We were 3 persons and stayed at the Yes Hotel in Varese for an extended weekend. We had a car, and fortunately we also had the GPS system, otherwise it would have been difficult to find the hotel at night, it is located in a residential area, hardly any signs. There was plenty of parking space on the hotel grounds (secure, I hope...) and the area is quiet at night. Our room was quite nice, we could see the snow-capped peaks of the alps on a clear day. Breakfast was fine, at least on day 1, on day 2 and 3 the rolls were missing, only dry old bread, that was not so great. We had dinner twice at the hotel, that was very tasty. The pool was refreshing, but dirty, they don't clean it enough. The pool area is nice, tables, chairs, umbrellas. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We booked via the internet and had a good rate. However, the single room included dinner, but they would not grant this dinner, saying the price was for room and breakfast only. Very unfair behaviour, since I had a written confirmation for room with dinner. Also, with our rate, dinner for 18 Euros was offered (the double room), but we had to fight to get this price, as it was advertised nowhere in the hotel. They told us we could select a first course and a main course for this price, but at the end, they tried to charge us the full price of each dish, which was much more.

We chose this hotel because of its location. From here we could easily go to Milan by train and to Lake Maggiore by car. Varese itself was also a very nice city to visit.
Conditions caused my friend and me to travel separately. I went by plane to Milan from Holland and he drove to the hotel from Switzerland. We had arranged transportation from the airport. A taxi-van from the hotel would pick me up. Upon arrival at the airport there was indeed a man waiting for me. I tried to explain the man that I was alone and that my friend would come later by the car, but the man spoke only Italian. After 15 minutes of waiting, the man finally understood that nobody else was coming and we went to the hotel. He drove very fast, but that's normal for Italians. I checked into the hotel and I went to the room. I was slightly disappointed about the size of the bed. We had asked for a King-size and that one was certainly not wider than 1.40 meters and also very short. My friend is quite long and certainly would not fit.
I went to reception to ask for clarification. The receptionist told me in good English that the king size bed was only available in the more expensive apartments, and that these were all occupied. When I asked why I was able to book a king size bed in a regular room at their own internet-site, she had no answer. She said the next day we could change to an apartment with extra charge. I told her that that was no good service because a booking with King-size bed had been made.
Very disappointed I waited by the pool for my friend to arrive. Upon his arrival we went back to the room and then when we wanted to go out, the receptionist kept us standing. The next day we could change to an apartment, without additional payment, for the rest of the week.
All in all, we still had a good stay in a lovely apartment with large bed.

The breakfast was well maintained with enough choice and variety. We've made no further use of the restaurant, but we have seen people from the area come here for lunch and dinner and it all looked very good.

Tip: Bella Napoli restaurant in Varese has great pizza.

We found this hotel during Milano Mobile Fiera (Furniture trade fair) at otel.com for 53 EUR incl. Breakfast, Sauna, Internet, free Parking and FREE Shuttle to fiera fairgrounds!!!!

What a bargain if you remember the crazy overpriced hotels in Milan and up to 150km around (even in the mountains agriturs close to Como double prices) 200 for 2* and 500 upfor the upscale ones (those who think their guest are willing to pay).

The rooms and bathroom are newly remodeled, internet was free but didn't work as expected (very slow and always disconnected) and the pool was still closed (April and rainy weather). However Sauna was working, breakfast was great for Italian habits and the free parking was also a plus.

The skipped the fiera shuttle because there is now - during fair times - a "fast" train available which stops in "Milano Fiera". So they just drive you to the railway station but they give you a free ticket to take the train (and return) - for the return you need to arrange pick-up or take taxi (10 EUR). - However great service!!

Because the hotel is far from city and in case you don't want to be overcharged in its restaurant I'd recommend a car.

Due to good value and excellent service I can only recommend this bargain to everybody on business close to Malpensa/Milano

Definitly in the middle of nowhere. No airconditioning, rooms were TINY. No airport shuttle service because they have no driver. I arranged for a shuttle bus to pick me up at the airport the day of my arrival and it never showed. 2 hours later I paid 70 euros for a cab. Internet service in the rooms did not work. If you wanted internet access you had to sit in the lobby. The rooms were stifling hot and if you wanted fresh air you had to open the windows which had no screens so all kinds of bugs and mosquitoes came in. The decore of the hotel looks alot more comfortable in the pictures online. Some of the staff was friendly, and the breakfast buffet was big.
