“Unhygienic and staff wasn't very nice...”

Firstly, the address provided on this site and on the bookings.com site is insufficient to find on any online map or GPS system. We had to call the hotel to give us directions to the hotel. When we finally arrived at this hotel after getting somewhat lost, we were asked to sign a blank form. When I began to fill it out, they told me I didn't have to bother....Well, I don't normally make it a habit of signing blank forms and don't like being pressured into doing so, either. The same receptionist failed to inform us that included in the price of our hotel was a sun umbrella, a chaise, and a beach chair. This resulted in us getting a mediocre spot on their tiny strip of a beach, only because the hotel wasn't very full, otherwise we probably would have ended up in the last row of the lido.

We got a corner double-occupancy room with a double-view of the sea, which was absolutely lovely, yet for a 4-star hotel I was surprised by the outdated decor. Our room was equipped with a small balcony with a small table and 2 chairs overlooking the garden and sea, which was lovely as well. The room appeared to be fairly clean, though, except for the stained towels!!!

It wasn't until the 2nd day, after the cleaning staff had supposedly done up our room that my boyfriend had discovered that the cleaning staff had left remnants of cleaning supplies behind and a used cleaning sponge on the unwrapped soap which was evidently being used for cleansing our hands and face as it was laying in the soap tray! This is absolutely unhygienic and unacceptable behaviour by cleaning staff!!! Even after reporting this to the reception staff, we returned to the room with evidence of another cleaning sponge having been left behind by cleaning staff along with more stained linens!

Our third day, the beach lifeguard decided he would move our spot on the beach without prior notice and gave our spot away to another couple who never ended up showing up on the beach all day!!! This made us feel very insignificant and that guests are not all treated fairly!

Wireless internet is €3/hour, whether in-room or in the communal areas. At these prices, the internet should be free!!!

Although this hotel is in a fantastic location (very beautiful scenery, quiet, and walking distance to many restaurants and historical centre) and is equipped with free parking, a positive aspect for those travelling by car, the lack of hygiene and negative treatment we received by staff members really didn't make the stay here worth the money we spent!

Room Tip: Don't recommend. Better hotels in vicinity!

Very nice hotel in the beautiful little town of Terracina. The rooms are reasonably sized with a lovely sea view. Hotel staff make you feel really welcome and can give you great recommendations where to go, what places to see, where to eat...
The hotel has its own restaurant, but it was closed for dinner in April (it’s still low season) and we had dinner at a nice restaurant in the center. . Seafood is something of special in Terracina (the restaurant owner told me local seafood is even eaten by the Pope) Breakfast was buffet style with nice fresh fruits and everything you expect.
The hotel is a 2 minutes walk from Terracina town square. the location is very quiet.
One great thing is that the hotel has its own parking lot, because else you would have to park your car outside.

“Excellent hotel in beautiful location”

The hotel has a beautiful location by the sea, and has its own spacious beach. Wiew from room towards the sea, the beach, Circeo and Ponza was fantastic. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to city center and old town (which is fantastic with narrow streets, roman ruins and good restaurants). The last week the hotel offered four-course dinner for all the guests, even though only breakfast was originally included in the price. No problem staying at hotel with 15 month-baby. We will return.

We were recommended this hotel by a hotel assistant in Rome, but after spending 24 hours in a "suite" - we do not have the similar feelings about the hotel.

Our first impression - outside - was that the view was very nice. But immediately after entering the hotel, our opinion was changed to the worse. We had booked and paid our suite the day before. And after arriving Terracina about 16.00, we were prepared to relax in the room at once, but the management were not sure if the room was ready for us yet. Nice welcome? We did not think so.

We had paid a lot for the suite and was looking forward to a luxury night. We had big expectations which was not redeemed!!! The room was at it`s best like a large double room without any kind of luxury what so ever, with a very simple bathroom.

After travelling all day we were hungry and asked the staff where we could get a quick meal. The desk clerk told us to ask the waiter for a salad. But the waiter could not help us. The staff could not help us further than this. We ended up eating in a take-away outside the hotel we discovered ourselves.

After "illegally" using the hotel-towels on the beach we needed new towels for our shower. But surprise, surprise - they could not help us with this. However they tried to sell us the expencive beach-towels with the hotel-logo...

To bring your own lap top is also useless. They prefere that you spend several euros on the hotel-computer instead, so the wireless internet does not work.

Terracina is definitly worth a visit, but next time we will find another hotel!

“What a disappointment”

This hotel was supposed to be one of the better in town. And the location is absolutly fantastic, unfortunatly though the service is very poor and the staff is very rude and rigidly apply a whole lot of "rules"

Here are some example that made our stay a littele unpleasent, considering that this is a 4 star hotels our expectations were high.
1) It is not allowed to bring towels to the beach nor they offer towel services, therefore you must buy your own towel. The hotel sells it for 35 Euros.

2) It is not allowed to have family visiting. One of the reason why we chose the hotel was to meet my son and grandchildren, unfortunatly though they were not allowed to visit us. We could not show them the room and the view not even for 5 minutes, because that was the rule (honestly this has never happened to me anywhere else). Kind of "jail feeling". My son even proposed to leave his id at the reception. No way.

3) I was asked to talk with the manager, it has never been possible.

4) The last day we asked to stay a little longer in the room as our retrun flight was late in the afternoon. Guess what: again NO was the answer...Eventhough the hotel was or at least looked not at all fully booked.

5) Also foreget about internet facilities in the hotel...

If you are looking forward for a 4 star hotel that makes your stay pleasent and make the guest feel welcome DO NOT GO THERE, until they change staff and management at least....

All in all we had a pleasent stay becuase the location and view is fantastic , the facilities are not too bad and Terracina is a very nice and lively city

Considering our guest disappointment we’d like to premises that Grand’ Hotel L’Approdo and the whole staff works every day costantly for the satisfication of our guest.We are equipped with all the necessary comforts ,in addition to professionalism coming from years of experience (with the our guest’s suggestions participation) and costant efforts to improve every year our services.

1)Our Grand Hotel enjoys of an excellent position right by the sea along the promenad4e and free use of beach service (1 umbrella ,1 sunchair, 1 sunbed) is included in the room rates without extra cost.Beach towel is not included. Our guest are not allowed to bring to the beach towels that belongs to the hotel service ( they are used for the bathroom service ). Otherwise our staff take care of advising best shop to buy towels (maximum 10 minutes far from the hotel ) or they can buy towels with Grand Hotel L’ Approdo Signature directly at the front desk .

2) Staring from the first floor we also have different services we are glad to offer our Guest :
Free use of Fitness room and movie room,library,solarium.
Our guest use to spend relaxing time on the upper floors and Our rules are necessary to protect their privacy.

People invited by our Guest are always welcome and they can have conversation and take place in the Hall room or Café Room enjoying of a wonderfull sea view.

3) When our manager director is not in the Hotel are guest are welcome to apply to another member of managing staff for all the needs they have.

4) As Mrs Brussitalian rated on this website, Cleanliness is one of our target and we always wish to offer an inpeccable room for all our guest but it needs time and organization. Our check in time is at 15:00 (if the room is ready we usually allows our guest to get the room before this time); check out time is 11:00\11:30 but when it’s possible we are glad to meet our guest requirements of keeping room until 12:00(if there are not arrival in he same room).
Guest that needs to keep the room until the afternoon can stay paying an extra cost of 50,00 Euro.(if there are not arrivals in the same room).

It is with no uncertain pride that many long-standing guest continue to assure us of their loyalty,thanks to the high quality of our service,to the costant attention we demonstrate towards them.Our organization has for year been improving it’s structure and services and our rules based on respecting have been usefull to build up all the good features that Mrs Brussitalian has recognized during her feedback.
