I also was part of the CCM Spoleto festival, but I also feel that the hotel (and its staff) had no idea what they were in for when they agreed to host an entire group for most of the summer. Our situation was a special one; for most travellers I doubt you will find the troubles we encountered.
If you are visiting Spoleto and choose to stay here, here are some pros and cons:
Pros: it is just outside the town walls, and is just a short walk to several of the piazzas located in the old part of Spoleto. It has a great courtyard where you an relax and take in views of the fortress, which was beautifully lit at night. My room in particular opened up to breathtaking views of the mountains, and was above a family who held get-togethers on Sundays - complete with an accordian player! Very old-world Italy.
Cons: it is quite far from the other, newer side of Spoleto, including the train station.
This place is a no-frills hotel. If you are looking for a place that cleans your room every day, has wait-staff and other amenities you would expect from high-end hotels, then don't stay here. This is an economy hotel - an American equivalent would be Motel 6. So, if you are just looking for a place to hang your hat after a log day of hiking and/or taking in the beautiful town, then this would be worth your money
