“Gorgeous Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We spent 4 nights at Villa Milani in September. Upon arrival, we were unable to find the Villa and called the hotel for directions. The owner, Luigi, immediately drove into town to lead us back to the Villa. The staff were waiting to greet us and we were given a small tour of this fabulous Villa. A lovely lunch was prepared for us and enjoyed on the terrace. Our room was very large and well appointed with gorgeous views of town. The bathroom was also quite large. Breakfast was served in a small dining room whenever we were ready. Although it was too chilly for swimming, the pool looked lovely. The Villa sits high above Spoleto but is only 5 minutes from the town. Spoleto was fun to expore with lovely restaurants and reservations were made for us by the Villa. Villa Milani took the place of honor on the cover of Karen Brown's Guide to Tuscany recently and we have found that these guides are a treasure for travelers. Also, Paul Simon was a guest here a few years ago so I think we could not have done better for a place to stay in Spoleto. We loved every minute of it.

“'Long Weekend'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Staying in Villa Milani was a real joy. The reception rooms are small and intimate, with doors leading onto the terrace and gardens, with views of the town and hills, exquisite by day and night. The terrace area was transformed from breakfast to evening drinks. The rooms are extremely comfortable with beautiful furniture and spacious bathrooms. We spent time on the loungers around the pool which is well positioned with beautiful views across the valley.
Luigi, his wife and staff could not have been more knowledgable of the area and made sure our stay was special in every way and we left saying it was one of our most memorable breaks.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor, have their own terrace outside space

“Short break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

A few friends went to stay at Villa Milani for a long weekend and we certainly weren't disappointed.
The villa is set on the hillside above the beautiful town on Spoleto so there are magnificent views over the valley and down onto the town. The town itself is a joy to visit with its extraordinary Duomo full of exquisite paintings. If you're a Filippo Lippi fan then the frescoes of the apse are a must.
The villa itself is a real treat. The food was excellent and eating breakfast leisurely on the terrace until at least 11am every morning was wonderful. The staff were all so friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay very special.
Luigi is the consummate host with any request being dealt with efficiently and with enthusiasm and interest. You felt that you were his personal guests and no request was too much trouble.
I would go back there like a shot if the opportunity arises.

“25 Wedding Anniversary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

We took a party of friends to Villa Milani in June - 2011 - and had the best stay of our lifetime. We go to Italy at least once a year and are used to high standards in this type of hotel but Villa Milani exceeded them all. The setting is magnificent and so convenient for Spoleto itself. We had 2 superb meals on the Terrace and in the Garden of the Villa cooked by the superb chef at the Villa. The owner and his staff were so attentive and kind and di everything possible to make our special occasion a joy.

“Fab Service, Fab location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

Set up above the town, the views are amazing. Peace, calm and tranquil. breakfast on your own terrace was superb and Luigi was an excellent host. Nothing was too much trouble from sorting out a hire car and train ticket details. He makes your stay very special. We stayed three nights as part of our honeymoon and hope to go back one day
