Room is clean and nice, a bit small. Very friendly staff. Though the restaurant is pretty average.

Four of us stayed here for 3 nights. We had a family room, which worked out really well.
Hotel is a 5 min walk to the slopes and the bars and restaurants.
The gondola is 10 mins if you take the direct off piste route.
Breakfast is good. Free wifi was very useful. Parking outside the hotel handy.
If you drive here beware freezing diesel - we almost got stuck.
Overall a very friendly and good value hotel.
Its our first time skiing in Sestriere, Italy. Just by luck we choose this hotel from the website before we visit in March 6,2011. At first we booked for one week (7 nights), and we booked another 10 nights with another hotel, just for insurance if this hotel is not nice, at least we got a better hotel for our next 10 days, but eventually, after 2 nights of staying here, my husband and I decided why not we extend our next 10days here too, this is bcos of the location (there's a shuttle bus stop outside the hotel), although we need to walk to the ski lift every morning, but its a real nice walk ( about one thousand steps, I counted it bcos we stayed 17 nights with this hotel and everyday we just walked to the ski lift).
It will never be wrong choosing this hotel bcos of its price, location, service staff, free-wifi, cleanliness, comfort room plus free ski storage near the ski lift . The staff at the ski-storage shop (Sport Ski-Golf Rental) are super nice people, you can rent the skis from them and every day end you just change back to your walking shoes and walk back to the hotel.
The walk from hotel to the rental/storage shop is real nice as every Tuesday, by sunshine or heavy show, there's a Tuesday market at the carpark and its a nice warm up before skiing of the day. After skiing you can either take the shuttle bus back (cost EURO 5 for the whole week or EURO1 for each trip), but we never take the shuttle out of this 17 nights with Sud-Ovest.
One of the best thing I like is Mr. Renzo at the hotel, he'll try his best to help you whenever you got a question, example like our 1st day of skiing and we cant find the ski-rental/storage shop and he offered a drive by his car if we want, secondly we forget to bring our wire charger for our camera, although he didnt have one to borrow it to us, he asked his colleague if they have too (luckily one of the staff have that cable). Since we stayed so long with them, he's always make sure if we have enough food for dinner or breakfast, always asking to ensure we eat enough. I higher recommend if you're going to stay in Sestriere, this is the best comfort, economic price and, good service you will enjoyed here, look no elsewhere and so sure on our next visit to Sestriere, we'll stay with Sud-Ovest again.
By the way, we stayed here from March 6 to March 23, 2011
The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms were basic but comfortable with enough space. We had wi-fi also in the rooms. dinner a la carte was delicious.
Just stayed here for a long weekend. The Hotel is a little dated and limited but it is very clean and the owner and staff are very helpfull. We stayed 1/2 board - Breakfast good, evening meal basic but fine after a days skiing. Good selection of local wines and interesting " natural" ales. Its about 7-8 min walk to the slopes. There is a bus but erractic. Have a word with the owner and he will point you in the direction of the hire shop near the slopes which give a discount to guests and store their kit and private kit overnight so no need to lug it back - the shop is very helpful.
No doubt there are swankier hotels but all in all good for the money
