The location is perfect for skiers with the main slopes of Selva just outside the skiroom. In the evening you have to walk a bit further to reach the main streets of Selva but no more than 5 minutes on calm streets. The place seems newly renovated into a high modern standard, and kept in mint condition as ususally in Val Gardena. We were not disturbed by the passing cablecars. Our apartment was fresh, bright and roomy. The kitchenette was adequate and well equipped, over average including dishwasher. Beds were fine in one room, somewhat simpler in the other (bed sofa type materass even in the main bed). Huge balconies. Great views over slopes and Selva.

The hosting couple are in their way friendly and helpful. But... There is something missing that makes you feel that you are often asking too much, and this feeling grew during the stay in a way that definitely affected our vacation.

The parking is barely enough to fit all cars so things get complicated on Saturdays. We were asked to remove our car from the hotel parking Saturday morning directly efter check out, even if we were going skiing that day which added considerable stress and timeloss. This is a general problem on switching days - they cannot have double parking for every room but _every_ other hotel I have visited i the Alps during over 40 years have solved these problems with more courtesy, understanding and flexibility. And there is no room other than the common non heated skiroom to change clothes after skiing on departure day. And certainly no possibilty to shower. Some may say this is asking to much, but most other places I've stayed at actually manage to comply with such obvious and common wishes without making you feel like you're asking for the moon.

The internet connection was not wireless as described on the website. Instead you hook up your computer for a fee in the dining room when it's not in use.

After checking out the hostess made it clear that the only reason she still would let us use the corridor/sauna WC (the only one available outside the rooms) was that it had _not_ yet been cleaned! Now there's a clue to how they are thinking. She also "forgot" to give us a receipt upon full payment (cash only). And this is quite a pricey place. We will not return.

Do not consider this hotel if you have children or if you do not expect to place every item of your belongings in neat orderly piles (out of sight) each day before you leave your room, even if you have paid for seven nights. If you do not take kindly to being criticised personally including your methods of raising your children, do not stay here. I am the managing director of a company and stay in hotels all over the UK, the Middle East and Europe but would NEVER spend another night in this establishment.

The rooms are OK, the breakfast OK but frugal but the cable car passes right by your window if you are in room 205! This does of course give opportunities to wave at people as they pass by your balcony.

We stayed at the Garni Hotel Miara for a week. It 's averry nice new hotel. The owners also have some appartments in the same building. Perhaps that is the problem, it seem that the owner and his wife weren't verry pleased to have hotel guests which demand service. Ok they made breakfast and when you asked something they had it / would do it for you. It just wasn't already done, all the minor things one expects were not common. If we knew that we wouldn't reserved a room but an appartment.
Conclusion the owners are more familiar with apprtments then with hotelrooms, it looked like the are verry economical, thrifty, frugal sparing etc etc.
We would defenitly not go back.
