We stayed for a week during Feb 2012. It is in a fantastic location literally yards from the main Champinoi ski lift, and only a few minutes walk to the Dantercepies ski lift. Lots of shops and bars nearby - as well as a chemist and ski hire shops and ski school offices. All staff were really helpful - particulary Susy - who also replied promptly to e mails i sent before we arrived. Food was amazing - 5 courses at dinner - lots of choice - and superbly cooked by the resident chefs. Newly opened wellness centre was also fabulous with a pool, sauna and turkish bath. Great ski boot room with heaters to dry your boots overnight, and lockable cupboards for your skis and poles - free of charge. Boot room protected by cctv too. If you are thinking of staying in Selva - look no further - this is the place to stay - we would go back there in an instant. We stayed in Selva 12 months ago at the nearby Linder Hotel - which is a good hotel too - but the Aaritz is different class! We travel a lot but this has to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

As other reviewers have mentioned, hotel Aaritz must have some *world* class opposition, not to be the top hotel in Selva-Val Gardena. This may seem a vaguely silly thing to say, for someone who has only been to one hotel in the resort but allow me to explain why.

First, the hotel is situated across the road from the resort’s main gondola ski lift. So no trudging around town in ski boots, no waiting for the ski bus and if you so wish, you can stick your head out of the hotel, to wait for the queue, (if there is one), to die down.

Second, it is the friendliest and most efficient hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. For example, our tour operator was forced to divert our flight into another airport, due to bad weather. Eventually, we arrived at our intended airport, where we waited for people from other flights and buses to join us. In short, we arrived at the hotel Aaritz at 2230, instead of the planned 1530. We struggled into the hotel, tired and very hungry to be greeted by a charming lady who, after shaking hands with all declared, “If you’re quick, you can make dinner”, (dinner was scheduled to finish at 2200). Could we be quick? Five minutes later we were treated to a superb four course meal; a standard of cooking that was maintained during the entire stay. Also, despite mucking up their Saturday evening, the restaurant staff couldn’t have been more cheerful and helpful; a trait that also carried on for the entire week.

Third are the superb facilities at the Aaritz, which are more five star than four. Our room was extremely spacious and had all the usual amenities…and then some. There is a superb pool, Jacuzzi, sauna etc. as well as some exercise equipment, all in almost new or new condition. The bar is well stocked and staffed, as usual, by thoroughly professional and friendly staff. Last but not least, the wi-fi internet access is free! Not only that, you get strong signals throughout the hotel.

I’ve mentioned before, that occasionally you visit a hotel that raises the bar so much, it renders other hotel reviews, over-generous. The hotel Aaritz is precisely that kind of hotel. I don’t think I have ever visited a hotel, where the phrase “We’ll be back next year” was used so frequently and so sincerely and that includes me!

This hotel may be languishing well down the classification but it is still unbeatable as a package among all the hotels in Selva. Suzy has now completely redesigned the pool and sauna area which is now stunning. The rooms are excellent and the food is exceptional as always.

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights . After visiting there I would definitely stay for more. We came the whole family- parents with 3 children . I have asked for 2 rooms - duble + triple. When we entered the rooms we realized that the hotel upgraded our rooms. It was like entering a palace . So beautifull So rich So clean So much room .Just Lovely!!! Suzie is the owner of the hotel and you can feel her everywhere . During breakfast she is greeting everone for good morning. The breakfast is great and so is the service . Everyone there is so happy to serve you. In summer the price is really good and fare. Suzie has suggested us a wonderfull trip in the morning - we went with 2 cable cars to colfosco and then a walk to a great waterfall. Certainly the best area for trips .
