“Lovely place to stay for some rest and relaxation”

I stayed here in the first week of September and it was such a lovely holiday. The hotel is very small and therefore, very quiet and perfect for couples looking to get away and completely relax. Our room was big and very nice, it was cleaned daily and the whole hotel was well maintained. The breakfasts are freshly prepared every day and there was something different everyday which made a nice change. In terms of going to Sorrento, it's such a lovely time but I would advise going out of season when the weather is still warm but not quite as hot as the summer months and that way you avoid the mass crowds of tourists during the summer holidays. The woman who manages the Villa is very helpful and speaks a good level of English which was very helpful. In terms of transfers to and from Naples airport there is a bus which costs €10 each and goes from the main square in Sant'Agnello.

“Live like an aristocrat”

If you'd like to know what it's like to live like an Italian lord, Villa Savarese is the place for you. It's a classic Italian villa and you'll feel like a princess in your elegant room, or lazing by the pool.

It is a lovely oasis if you're planning a quiet holiday by the pool - but if you're planning lots of excursions, be aware of the distance from Sorrento. The villa is in Mont Sant'Agnello, which is the next village along the coast. There is one reasonably good restaurant within walking distance, plus several hotels which have restaurants attached. Otherwise, it's a long walk into Sorrento and back along busy roads - or a twenty euro taxi ride every time.

“The perfect place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We only stayed at Relais Villa Savarese by chance, but in picking it we struck gold.

It is a lovely, lovely big villa set in its own big, beautiful gardens. The house itself is a work of art, seemingly at one with the gardens surrounding it. The gardens make you feel like you are at one with nature, but they are well tended.

Our room was spacious and well appointed, with a nice big bed and an appreciated jacuzzi bath in the bathroom.

The lovely outdoor swimming pool, overlooked by lovely lemon trees is great to spend time in and around, letting time drift by.

But, like many places, it is the staff who make the difference. Angela and her team are quite amazing. They were always warm and friendly, very helpful and happy to chat. Behind the warmth, you could tell that the place was run very efficiently - everything was as it should be, everything on time. Angela makes you feel like you are welcome in her home rather than a customer renting a room. It's a subtle difference but it changes the experience from 'great hotel' to a 'wonderful escape'.

Angela's relais is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento. The walk is for the most part pleasant enough although there are a couple of blind corners with narrow paths! Watch out for mopeds and speedy cars.

We had planned to stay in Sorrento, but as our holiday got closer, we realised we had left it late to book a hotel. We walked to Sorrento on a few occasions - and it is a very beautiful town - but it was very, very busy and we were glad to be a little away from the heaving crowds.

Sant Agnello is much quieter than Sorrento, but it had enough nice restaurants to keep us entertained for the week and the local produce really is very tasty.

I nearly forgot to mention the breakfasts at Villa Savarese.... yummy! Lots and lots of lovely sweet and savoury food and always a lovely cake or tart to tempt you.

We'd love to return to the area and we'd definitely stay here again.

“Oasis near Sorrento”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

We loved this small boutique hotel. I can’t believe it’s only rated 3 stars ... should be 4 star facility with 5 star service.

Beautiful landscaped gardens and a large elegant villa greet you as you pass the front gate. After a long day of site-seeing (in very busy & crowded Sorrento, Amalfi or Capri) it’s wonderful to come back to this oasis.

Breakfast is outstanding with different selections each day.....the setting is elegant and inviting.

Angela is a wonderful host who provides personal tips and guidance on how to get the most out of your stay based on your unique interests. We visited Ravello based on Angela’s recommendation and enjoyed it much more than Amalfi.

It’s a 20+ minute walk into Sorrento or short bus ride. Only 10 minutes from the Sant’ Agnello train station. (ie for Pompeii, Naples etc).

We had all our evening meals close by because we prefer the quieter setting....many good restaurants in the area.

We like it quiet...on the flip side if you prefer the buzz of Sorrento you’ll need to consider whether this is too far out for you. After a full day of sightseeing that 20+ minute walk seems much further

“A simply marvellous place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011 via mobile

If you are visiting Sorrento, this is THE place to stay. The villa is a beautiful oasis of peace and quiet.
Angela, the owner is a real gem. She is always friendly and very helpful. Her breakfasts are exquistite. She cooks and bakes to perfection. The pool area is a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon. Light lunches are available if ordered in the morning. All the staff is extremely helpful and try to do whatever they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and they succeed very well.
We truly enjoyed our visit and only wish we could have stayed longer than our four nights!
Grazi mille Angela!
