“Friendly, great Italian Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

If you are looking for true Italian atmosphere and decor this is it. The food is made with local produce and lots of it. The staff are friendly and helpful; we had a great laugh. The pool is small but ok. The rooms are clean, basic and good value for money. WE had a good holiday and members of our family have since visited again and again. August 2011

Room Tip: Balcony rooms are cooler and less noisy

“not worth it”

we booked the hotel Londra based on reviews from trip advisor and we were very disappointed. the room was hot and within 3 feet of a main road, so it was impossible to keep the windows open due to the constant scooter and car noise. air conditioning, safe, refrigerator are all extra charges, and since the hotel advises that it's not safe to leave personal items in the room, it gave us an uncomfortable feeling. also, the hotel is Sorrento adjacent, and there were no directions on how to find the hotel from the train station. Breakfast was acceptable, but the coffee was horrible.

Room Tip: try to find a room not adjacent to the street on either side, or choose another hotel

I loved this place!! Ok..its not luxury, but give it a day or two and its home from home! The staff become family and cant do enough for you! The rooms are clean and comfortable (I had a single with an en-suite with plenty of wardrobe space and a dressing table) The bathrooms are small -but clean..and the shower really is miniscule-dont be disheartened-theres a knack to showering-squeeze in-soak-shut the shower off and open the doors-shampoo/soap-shut the doors and rinse! The towels are like bedsheets! I wasnt impressed to start with, but came home regretting the fact that I hadnt bought any as they are so much better than towelling!! If you need a hairdryer just go ask at reception-it took me 3 days to figure that one out! I had no problem with noise-other than the road sweeper and bin-men at 5am most mornings-Oh-and the cat with the weirdest 'meow' I have ever heard-give it 10 minutes and you are back to sleep tho! There IS air con..but thats an extra-it was 29+ at night and I didnt bother-just open the windows wide and its fine. I also had no problem with the bed-comfy, changed sheets and made every day..
The pool is a great way to cool off after a days sightseeing-especially with a glass of Vodka and coke beforehand and a good book after, lazing on the sunbeds-and if you dont fancy a dip check out the 'patio' down the bar end of the hotel (yeah-didnt find that one til the last afternoon-watch the walls for lizards!)
Breakfasts are basic, rolls and various filings, a small selection of cereals, pastries, yoghurt, fruit-and juice, tea and coffee, even a toaster! Dinners are better-usually a fair selection-and the ravioli is always a winner!
The hotel may be a little out of the way but there are buses every half hr over the road to Sorrento etc-and an open topped tourist bus that takes you around the bay complete with commentary in various languages. And barely 10 minutes walk from the hotel will find you at the piazza Marinella with fantastic views over the bay, and Vesuvius...and the sunsets are amazing

Room Tip: 'Google map' it and look from every angle-try not to get a room at the front, or on the firs...

“Thank you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

This was my first holiday abroad by myself at the grand age of 61, and I was looked after very well. The hotel is clean and welcoming, the food was good and plenty of it. The pasta was great. I had a single room, and it was more than satisfactory, the towels changed every day and the sheets every second day. The hotel was friendly and they organised the trips I wanted and arranged for me to picked up. The staff were friendly and I met some lovely guests. I am looking to go back next September. Thank you to all who welcomed me to this lovely hotel.

“Sleep deprivation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Londra for three nights at the end of a fairly demanding holiday that included Rome beforehand. Therefore we really wanted to relax by the time we reached Sorrento. Maybe we were spoiled by the previous hotel we had stayed in at Rome, which was also 3 star and included air conditioning as standard, but the extra charges the hotel required for air con, a fridge etc lost it brownie points immediately.

The place is hot and yes you can keep the windows open but the noise from the local roads was terrible with traffic that seemed to go on through the night. I really started to hate scooter engines! We had evening meals included, but it was horribly bland and we even joked that they can’t get the dessert wrong surely….well if you don’t mind a dried out orange and a couple of pears for your ‘fresh fruit salad’. Eat out even if it means eating pizza for lunch and dinner it would be a better alternative and possibly even breakfast though I didn’t mind the nutella style filled croissants.

The good points were that the waiting staff are very good at their job and there is a swimming pool and sun beds, where you can catch up on lost sleep during the day due to traffic noise throughout the night.
