I loved this place!! Ok..its not luxury, but give it a day or two and its home from home! The staff become family and cant do enough for you! The rooms are clean and comfortable (I had a single with an en-suite with plenty of wardrobe space and a dressing table) The bathrooms are small -but clean..and the shower really is miniscule-dont be disheartened-theres a knack to showering-squeeze in-soak-shut the shower off and open the doors-shampoo/soap-shut the doors and rinse! The towels are like bedsheets! I wasnt impressed to start with, but came home regretting the fact that I hadnt bought any as they are so much better than towelling!! If you need a hairdryer just go ask at reception-it took me 3 days to figure that one out! I had no problem with noise-other than the road sweeper and bin-men at 5am most mornings-Oh-and the cat with the weirdest 'meow' I have ever heard-give it 10 minutes and you are back to sleep tho! There IS air con..but thats an extra-it was 29+ at night and I didnt bother-just open the windows wide and its fine. I also had no problem with the bed-comfy, changed sheets and made every day..
The pool is a great way to cool off after a days sightseeing-especially with a glass of Vodka and coke beforehand and a good book after, lazing on the sunbeds-and if you dont fancy a dip check out the 'patio' down the bar end of the hotel (yeah-didnt find that one til the last afternoon-watch the walls for lizards!)
Breakfasts are basic, rolls and various filings, a small selection of cereals, pastries, yoghurt, fruit-and juice, tea and coffee, even a toaster! Dinners are better-usually a fair selection-and the ravioli is always a winner!
The hotel may be a little out of the way but there are buses every half hr over the road to Sorrento etc-and an open topped tourist bus that takes you around the bay complete with commentary in various languages. And barely 10 minutes walk from the hotel will find you at the piazza Marinella with fantastic views over the bay, and Vesuvius...and the sunsets are amazing
Room Tip: 'Google map' it and look from every angle-try not to get a room at the front, or on the firs...
