“Excellent hotel in a very good location.”

Very friendly and helpful staff in a great hotel Good size and very clean bedroom. Food is very Neopolitan and not the same as British Italian. Food was real Italian and we ate many different choices. Beakfast was fine. Really recommend this hotel. Handy for all local transport to all local venues such as Pompeii, Sorrento etc. At night try Tony's bar at top of the road for reasonable priced drink.

“Terrible rooms...no wifi...false advertising...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We stayed in this hotel in October 2011 for 2 nights (unfortunately). The first night here was spent trying to leave the hairdryer (more like a primitive air blower) on to heat up the freezing room as we were told that the heat doesn't go on until November. This was the most uncomfortable hotel room I have ever stayed in, and this hotel is rated as 4-star. The bedrooms here are not even 1-star. Added to the cold, I nearly cracked the back of my head open on the protruding headboard which left a huge swelling for days to come. We managed to get extra blankets for the second night, as there was no other option for heating!!!

It states on their website, that wifi is freely available throughout the hotel, however, in our room just over the main bar (Room 118) there is no coverage whatsoever. It is typical of Italian false advertising to tourists, the hotel is dated, not convenient to Sorrento town centre, and they charge guests to use their own car park.

On the upside, the staff here are very very helpful. The restaurant food is better than the average Italian muck, and the guys at reception will bend over backwards to try and help with any requests. The staff here were the most helpful we met in 10 nights at different hotels in Italy, however, the old and dated hotel where they work makes it difficult to recommend this dinosaur. Stay somewhere else!!!

Room Tip: Check that the TV is directly in front of the bed and not at right angles to you. Stay somewhere els...

Dear ConorJ,

Thank you very much for choosing our hotel and for sharing your opinion on Tripadvisor.
We care about our guests feedback but I wish to reply to your review, where you wrote many things not corrected using also offensive terms.
I would like to clarify that you came into the hotel whithout any reservation and asked for a room for 2 nights, I remember very well because I was at the Front Desk that night. I showed you first a superior room with balcony and panoramic view on 3rd floor and 2 standard rooms with balcony on 1st floor. We went down to Reception and you asked me few minutes to think about the types of room to choose. After a few minutes you came back with your smartphone connected on internet with ours Wi-Fi system (wich magically worked…) and you asked to me to see also the basic-economy room on ground floor as advertised on the web. Considering that your Madam preferred a room with balcony, I offered the standard room at the same price of the basic room (20% of discount) and I gave you the opportunity to choose the room.
Regarding the freezing room… you came in mid-October, we apologize but in October we are not allowed (Municipal Law) to turn on heating. In any case just to remember, outside was 25°C during the day and 18-20°C at night and many guests asked for Air Conditioned.
We are very sorry Sorry for the problem you had with the wi-fi system. In those days we had no other reports of problems with the wi-fi from our customers, probably your smartphone had problems... Reporting the problem after more than a month from your departure it’s useless, maybe If you would have reported immediately the problem at the reception, certainly we would have solved the problem. because we don’t love to do false advertising…
Regarding the parking everywhere is advertised that it is an extra cost and plus we offer also other valid options.
we respect all opinions and tastes of our customers, but there are ways and ways to say certain things. Sincerely you used terms not exactly appropriate for the hotel and for our country when you spoke about the food. Fortunately for us we received more than 90 reviews in the last 7 months where we had an average rating of 92.5.
We are pleased that you appreciated at least our Italian Staff considering that probably you didn’t choose a wrong hotel but probably the wrong country.

Best regards

“The best hotel ever!!!”

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in this wonderful hotel for 7 days. The staff were welcoming and polite from the moment we arrived. In fact when we entered our room we were greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement and a personal hand-written note congratulating us on our recent marriage.

The location of the hotel was great because it was away from the centre of Sorrento but was close enough to be accessible by bus or on foot. We would love the hotel to consider running a minibus service to the centre of Sorrento or at least to arrange for residents to use the shuttle bus service from one of the other hotels for a small charge.

The food was varied and very tasty and the waiting staff were always willing to cater for our needs, and they always found time to talk to us about local culture, the Italian language and even football!!

We owe special thanks to Vincenzo (Bar staff), Emanuele (Waiter), and The head waiter (I think it was Lucio). These guys were funny, helpful, kind and hospitable. They always made time for us even at the hotel's busiest times. In addition my wife insists that Vincenzo makes the best Pina Colada cocktails in the world!!!

We plan to return to the hotel in the next 12 months and possibly stay for longer. To be honest we feel like we are going to visit old friends and we can't wait.

We miss you all.

Ci abbracciamo forte amici.

A presto.

Matt and Roisin Sherrington (Manchester, UK)

Lovely hotel. Great reception & staff. Nice place to get away from the pollution and noise of the big cities. Dinners very good, breakfast so so. Rooms comfortable, with balcony and great view of the mountains. Entertainment on some nights. Nice bar area. Pool. Have to say, we stayed in seven hotels during our 24 day trip and this one was the highlight of the trip. And, the only one to leave a bottle of wine in our room on arrival. Only downside is the charge for Internet and WiFi.

Room Tip: If you can, ask for a room with a view of the mountains.

“Fantastic staff and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

This was a first holiday with our baby Grandson and family. It was definately the right choice. The hospitality, warmth and general affection by all staff was fantastic. The Hotel is in need of a little TLC but this does not reflect on the hotel overall because everyone makes it the best stay they can.
Everyone had a great last week of season and I doubt if you could go anywhere in the World where they treat you as if it was the first.
Thank you to all the wonderful resturant staff who make it easy to be there with a 13th old baby who they all adored and even gave a gift from them all to him as we left.A special thanks to Vincenzo, Luigi, Francesca, who really made our time special.
The Hotel presented at the last dinner on the Thursday a bottle of purfume called 'sorrento' in a gift bag for all the ladies as a farewell gift what a lovely idea.
Lunch menu and drinks fairly expensive but we brought in our own cakes etc and ate them on our terrace overlooking the orchard and the hills of serrento 'perfect'
We would recomend this Hotel to friends and family and definatley return ourselves.
