Room was plesant, bed was very uncomfortable, food was awful - shell in the scrambled egg, weird scum on the meat. Just awful.

My wife and I went to sorrento for our honeymoon and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Lisa from the hotel even arranged for a bottle of champers to greet us upon our arrival which was a very kind gesture. If travelling from Naples airport we would suggest the bus to sorrento (stops at st agnello for this hotel) as the price is ten euros pp rather than a 80-100€ taxi ride. All taxis are pretty expensive. You would need a taxi once the coach drops you at st agnello which will cost about ten euros. You must visit Tonys bar which is just down the hill from the hotel (10 min walk), he is a very funny chap and also mario who works there are extremely friendly. Use the bus service for sorrento which are free from the hotel but unfortunately the last bus usually departs for the final journey back to the hotel at 10pm. Otherwise it's approx €20 in a taxi.the wife and I usually got the 6pm bus to sorrento, had a little shop, ate at the fantastic restaurants there then got the last bus back. You can get off the bus at the hotel before la pace for a nightcap at tonys. He will stay open ad long as you want to drink!! The train service from st agnello is good (busy though) and you can also get to sorrento this way. In the opposite direction takes you Naples bound and you can easily reach Pompeii and mt Vesuvius this way. Cheaper than paying for excursions. One must though, you must hire a private boat with skipper to take you to the island of Capri. We met up with 2 friends and shared the cost. Roughly 60-70€ each. But you get to go wherever you want, stop, anchor up to swim and visit locations you can't on an excursion. Back to the hotel. We were lucky enough to have a room with balcony overlooking the pool with mt Vesuvius as the backdrop. That was on the 3rd floor, any lower and the view wouldn't be quite as good. The snack bar was ok, can't complain nor rave about it but all staff are extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend la pace to anyone but each person to their own. Having stayed here for 10 days we can not really fault it. However being closer to sorrento would have been better as there is so much to do there. I hope you enjoy it,

Upon arrival do not be fooled by the lavish and impressive reception area. Although all the staff are very helpful and friendly, I would not call this a 5 star hotel. Rooms good, but bathrooms need updating. Swimming pool area very good, but do not wait for someone to get you a drink, if you want a drink you need to go to the bar. Restaurant food well below average and everyone seems in a rush to get you out. This hotel is too far from Sorrento to enjoy an evening there.

Our family recently returned from a stay at La Pace and we wanted to leave a review for other visitors to this hotel. On arrival our allocated room was a very large triple as we were a family of 2 adults and a 9yr old.It was a beautiful room but not the greatest view. I spoke to Marilena on reception and within 2 hrs she had arranged for us to move to a triple on the 5th floor with a stunning veiw of the mountains. The rest of our holiday was brilliant! The food on a half board basis was varied and tasty with a different menu nightly to choose from. They were happy to cook something different for our son who prefered more basic food. The breakfasts are filling and plentiful and the hotel is very clean. It has a grandeur that is endearing to its surroundings.
Some people would say its a little old fashioned, but Italy has a wonderful grace to its buildings and architecture and you almost feel like time has turned backwards. Here in Sorrento its a wonderful way to take your time to do anything, relax, people watch and appreciate and respect this lovely way of life. We were overcome by the hospitality we were given by the staff at this hotel. They loved our son and spoiled him rotten! from the chefs chocolate pancakes at breakfast to Tonys fab hot chocolate by the pool at bedtime. The wonderful receptionist, Marilena, deserves an award for her undivided attention to every detail and the staff who work with her. She arranged everything we needed and we are very grateful. We were stranded an extra 4 days due to an Italian transport strike, but with no worries as the hotel kept our room on and we even spent our final night in a suite..so we would not have to move hotels.My partner proposed to me whilst we were on this holiday and we will definately be returning to spend another holiday here. Who knows, it may even be our honey moon!! We would recommend this hotel to familys and couples and Sorrento is an amazing place to be, in love, and with your family.or friends.I really dont understand how some people can say make detrimental comments about this hotel.....Thank you Grand Hotel La Pace...Debbie & Family xx
