“Exellent!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

I have been with my wife and our child (18) in this hotel for tow nights and it was great!!!

The hotel is locatd about 5-7 minutes driving from San Remo center (not recommended if you don't have car but I think that the hotel has a free suttle-check it). It is located on a mountain, in a lovely place with amazing view to the sea from every room, it was amazing to wake up in the morning with this view!

The room was great! It was clean, beautiful, and comfortable and it was very very big, it has tow separate rooms (double bed each) and accupied with a kitchen, air condition and a big terrace. Moreover, the toiilets were clean and even beautiful.
The service was great, they were very helpful and nice!
The breakfast was exellent!!! It was fresh, tasty and there was a veraity of food!
In addition the lobby is beautiful, there is very large swiming pool outside, free parking and a resturant.

It is much more then 3 stars hotel and it is a great value for the money!
We really enjoy this hotel and it is a great place to explore San Remo, Monacco and the area (the exit to the main roads is easy).

I totally recommend this hotel, if you need more information you can ask : hilaisraeli3@walla.com

“Yuk Too hard to find”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2010

Not our favorite out of our 19 hotel trip. This one was yuk. Horrible maintenance- broken shower handle and head. Dirty pool with hodge podge chairs and towels- nothing matched. Room had a mini kitchenette sink/burner in bland white cabinets- kind of creepy. No hotel feeling. Most LIMITED breakfast out of our 19 hotels. Bad lighting. Nothing like the website photos. Room was sunny and bright with a balcony so that was nice. Really hard to find on a private drive and location is several miles off from Garmin Nuvi GPS software.

“Average Hotel with nice view”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2009

Hotel is not bad but staff is not well trained and the road to get there is difficult! View is nice and in summer there is a nice pool.

“Nice Hotel, bad staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2008

We stayed here for four nights as a base on the Italian Riviera. Overall the hotel was well presented, clean and had adequate facilities.
All rooms have sea views, and the view down the valley to the sea is very nice. We had a superior room which was very spacious, had a large balcony and air conditioning.
The hotel has it's own restaurant which serves good authentic Italian food, although more expensive than many of the restaurants in the town.
The only downside of the hotel was the staff who were often grudgingly helpful and at times a bit rude. Most spoke a little English although it was generally poor.
Overall, this hotel is fine for a base for going out sightseeing and exploring the Italian riviera. Wouldn't recommend it for spending days on end by the pool.

“Very, very poor customer service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2008

Sincere recommendation: please avoid this hotel due to its rude and appalling customer service.

We stayed for 1 night on the night of Friday 17 August 2007. We had already pre-paid for our stay through Expedia (i.e. in order to guarantee a particular room type) and we had pre-booked a parking space in the secure hotel car park.

Upon arrival, we were very disappointed to discover that neither the room type we had booked nor the secure car parking space were available.

The woman at the Reception was most unhelpful in dealing with these issues. When she disputed whether we had actually reserved these items, she actually got hold of a print out of our booking. I then pointed to the 2 items that we had reserved which were stated very clearly in black and white on the booking print out. Clearly the hotel had not bothered to read the original booking I had made properly and they couldn't argue that I hadn't pre-booked these things.

I complained to the Manager who was unfortunately even more unhelpful. She basically said that, although we had paid in advance (which guarantees the bookings), we had to simply accept the room they were offering and the lack of secure car parking on a 'take it or leave it' basis. I was appalled by this attitude. She simply didn't care less. After all, they already had my money.

I had to park in the street that night. Given that our car is an expensive one, I was furious that the hotel had not reserved a secure car parking space that I had already paid for. Vandalism and car theft are quite common on the French and Italian Rivieras during the Summer. But this hotel simply didn't care about providing a service I had already paid for.

As you can imagine, the last thing we needed was an argument regarding these issues during our driving holiday around Europe. So we just had to put up with it.

Other comments:

The room was of an average standard. The sliding door in our balcony didn't lock - so much for security. The communal areas were large and reasonably well decorated, although showing signs of wear.

Breakfast was also truly mediocre with stale croissants. The waiters were abrupt bordering on rude.

The location of the hotel is high up on a hillside in a residential area. San Remo itself has seen better days and we much preferred the French Riviera. We had only stopped in San Remo so that we could be in Monaco early the next day.

The hotel seems like the kind of place that people book for 7 or 14 days at a time - like a kind of resort hotel.

Conclusions:

What disappointed us most was the woeful attitude and unhelpfulness of the staff from the Manager right down to the restaurant waiters.

I am a very well travelled person and I am always reasonable in what I expect according to the amount I pay for a hotel. However, I expect to receive the things I have actually paid in advance for. This was not a case of requesting (and not paying in advance for) a couple of things that a hotel may or may not be able to provide. These were things I had actually paid for.

My sincere and honest recommendation to you is that you avoid this hotel at all costs. We simply couldn't wait to leave the next day - not the feeling one should have on holiday.
