Great location, very nice breakfast. If you are going in the summer make sure you get a room with A/C. We stayed there twice and the second time we didn't. The fan helped but it was warm. Overall very friendly people and a great location.

Hotel Cortese is ideally situated for those travelling by train into San Remo being only a 5 minutes walk away. The Hotel was also only 1 minute away from the bus station so was very good for getting around the Italian Riviera if you are using public transport.
The rooms are basic but nice and spacious and very clean. Very much a no frills hotel but the owners were very friendly and the hotel room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast is buffet style and is typically Italian - lots of sweet things but a reasonable variety and plenty available and consisted of croissants, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cake, bread rolls, ham, and preservatives, fruit juice and any type of hot beverage you wanted.
The only negative point is that it could be noisy through the night (refuse collection etc) but the positives outweigh that.
All in all very good value, basic hotel.

We stayed at this family run hotel 12th and 13th October and were very satisfied with our choice of hotel. It was close to the shops and restaurants and a short taxi ride from the station. Our double room was recently renovated, tastefully decorated and quiet. The bathroom was new and clean. For 75 euros a night, we thought that this was value for money!

The breakfast which was included was a simple buffet with mainly sweet stuff, but this is quite usual in Italy.

The owners and the night porter were friendly and helpful.

A small, depressing place in the center of San Remo where staff is often rude, grossly inconsiderate of clients waking them up to needlessly rattle plates in the morning for breakfast at which no hot food is served, leaving their young children to cry in the afternoon in the company of a babysitter. Small, barely passable rooms with old furniture, renovated bathrooms.
