“Not a Pleasant Experience at this Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

Hotel lobby carpets were old and dirty. The towels were more like large size old handkerchiefs, never seen anything like those in any hotel. The bathroom looked more like a hospital room without much amenities, everything in white color. The room was larger with more closet space and drawers than other typical hotels we stayed at, but inside the closet was not clean and had dust. The location of the hotel is very convenient though, close to the Casino and main shopping and eating areas. The view from the room is fantastic. The view from the breakfast restaurant is very nice as well. There are several other hotels nearby though that we moved to the next day that was much better and less expensive. I asked for two towels and they brought one. Looked like the hotel had 2 people in the lobby to attend to all guest affairs and had little attention from management or the owners. Internet was available everywhere for free, the hotel web page says it's free in common areas, which was good). I wouldn’t stay there again.

“Too noisy”

The hotel met my expectations, although sadly those expectations weren't much as it is a budget hotel. Location is fine (although San Remo was a disappointment) and the staff were helpful but the quality of the accommodation was poor - very tired decor, room hadn't been very well cleaned etc. Worst of all the hotel offers the combination of thin walls with creaking wooden floors, so don't expect to have a peaceful nights sleep.

“This One is a Gem..Great location, Wonderful Staff - Amazing price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

We only spent one night here but were very impressed. The hotel smelled a little "musty" when we first walked in but that was the only place we smelled it. The desk clerk was super friendly with his limited English and helped us to park our car. Our room was AMAZING!!! We were in Room 530 which is like a suite. King bed, living room, desk, table and chairs and 2 giant windows overlooking the sea. The bathroom was a huge master bath with a vanity, bidet, shower and toilet and had one large window overlooking the sea. The restaurant was clean with great food and the breakfast food was amazing. There is a rooftop deck for sunning or relaxing. The town itself has a huge municipal casino which has gorgeous Murano glass chandaliers, not to be missed! We were very impressed by Lolli Palace and San Remo. We would highly recommend the hotel to others. Thanks Lolli Palace for the wonderful room and the wonderful place to stay.

“a rare treat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

Stayed here two years ago and had a better room then (ocean view as opposed to a view to buildings out back) but the delights remained the same: quietly kind staff, old-school charm and vintage stylings combined with modern bath and amenities, the creaky floorboards in room and hall are kind of cool, lustrous restaurant setting with impeccable white-jacketed service, phenomenal value half board rate with very satisfying dinner antipasti buffet and menu choices. It is a beautiful property, the bedroom color themes are joyful. Cons: the walls in this room were scuffed; the 2nd night the person in the next room creaked and bumped mysteriously all night long (restless leg syndrome?) and it was really loud. Tips: learning to use the local busses (V to Bordighera & Ventimiglia: U to the train station) is worthwhile - - I got a 7-day pass even for a two-night stay which is great for trips to other towns as well as hopping on and off around town and to the hotel; the air-con buttons are counter-intuitive - - you have to press down on the SUN/HEAT switch to get cool and vice versa (if you don't do it that way, you get no cooling); the wifi works great in the airy, spacious, comfy downstairs lounge, but is not designed to work in the rooms. I adore this hotel.

“very bad personal”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

We werw in Italy many times ago and we were always very satisfied with services, people, kitchen, culture, countryside and history are also perfect. SanRemo is pittoresque town, the sea is clean and Hotel Lolli Palace is wonderful historic building, BUT.... We were in the room with bad air-condition. The owner of this hotel who works also like a receptionist didn´t change us the room. The air in the room was really terribly warm. The technician arrived in our room - he was only staring on the air-condition machine and...nothing !!! the air-condition self-restarted in the evening. Thanks God !!! But the personal was very nervous on us :( There were people from germany who ate two or three desserts on the dinner. when we brought the second one - they told us that it is impossible !!! my child couldn´t bring the apple from beakfest out...nonsens.and fat people had more meal than us...absurd ? the last day - they brougt money, without thank you...but i think that the other guests were more satisfied than us.you know - they hadn´t problem with air condition - no problem is good guest so probably the personal was kind to them...but it is not our fault when the air condition is bad, am i right ?but the hotel is pretty , near the center of the city and the kitchen is really good.the owners should change their behaviour - then, itĺl be OK :)
