“very nice old beach hotel”

Booked the hotel via Neckermann for a 6 days stay. Hotel was just perfect for a relaxing holliday in an old italian riviera town. Surroundings just perfect, a bit noise because it is situated just at the riviera coast street. We had the feeling as if we where 40 years back, together with the upperclass.
Service from the staff and the food was just perfect. We had both breakfeast and dinner all days. Very nice. The room was at the back, old furnished but clean.

“Average Hotel”

Old, musty, but our room was clean...and the staff was friendly, especially the night desk clerk. Nice antiques, lovely view from our frontside balcony...noisy, but no more so than hotels in large cities. Breakfast was adequate...dinners fair.
Bottom-line - not high-end, overpriced...but an adequate hotel for 33% fewer Euros.

“Fawlty Towers”

Oh how I agree with your other reviewers - I should have looked at this web-site before I visited this hotel for the week of 7 September 2004. "Faded grandeur" is correct and this hotel should in no way be even considered as 4* - it may have been in 1935. The food was appalling (we had to eat out most nights even though we had half board), sleep impossible because of traffic noise or if you closed the window you would have fried with the heat (no air conditioning). On top of all that it was manned by staff who obviously considered you were there for their convenience. I would suggest this hotel be given a decent burial as soon as possible.

“Fading grandeur...”

This hotel was grand once, but that grandeur has now faded badly. Our room had a toilet which functioned intermittently. The food at breakfast was very poor, tasteless cheese, undrinkable coffee and very little choice. (Try the coffee shop in the park opposite for decent coffee and good service) Noisy at night time due to passing traffic. On the positive side you are surrounded by some lovely antiques and paintings, and the hotel bar is cosy if a little expensive. However, at the price we paid, we would not visit again.

“a trip to the post war italy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2003

Hotel Londra, though being a four star one, should be rated no more than a hostal, and even that would be generous. We had to clean by ourselves the bathroom, for it was in terrible state, the night receptionist was almost insultant, and the bar tenders ,though very kind and servicial (after the first good tips,of course) were most of the time in search of any young girl-client who dared appear by the pool.Up to twenty minutes I waited at the bar for someone who would mercily come and serve me a refreshment. The hotel itself seemed the scenery of a terror film,to the point that I had to accompany my girlfriend to the room everytime she went up to it,for she was terrified. The lift had ,most probably, over fifty years, and no renovation projected. The menu was, just that,THE MENU,the one and only menu, same everyday. And the gardens must have been luxurious,in the twenties or something like. In one line,I do not recomend it to any of my worst enemies, nothing to say about my friends. Maybe just one possible excuse for the hotel: The rest of San Remo was as old and degradated as the hotel.Maybe they sell the place as archaeology without excavation needed.
