PLEASE DON'T GO THERE.

It's hard to explain the deception we felt when we arrived at this hotel.

It seemed to be so nice on their website.

No pool (empty), dirty place, old rooms, disgusting breakfast, etc

With a little bit of imagination, you can feel like in an old ghost movie..

Fortunately we spent only 2 nights there...

If you're looking for a hotel that offers great or even good food, entertainment, and close to San Remo, do not stay in the Nayala Hotel. If you'r loking for a friendly ower, modern rooms, and a confortable bed, do not stay in the Nyala Hotel. This hotel had probably the worst food I have ever tasted. Breakfast consisted of cereal wit warm milk, running eggs, uncooked bacon and sausage.
Breakast loked good in comparison to the dinners. Each night it became worst. We started to joke that even though the menu said it was pork, ham, turkey, etc. it all looked the same. We called it mystery meat. The dessert was the ame each night just a different color. I either had a good lunch out or went out for dinner even though the meals were included in the ABC Tour. San Remo - the town was okay. if you decide to visit, find another hotel.

We would not recommend this hotel to anyway, its website promotes it to be glorious, but glorious it is not!! God only knows how it managed to get a 4 star rating, most definitely 2/3 at its best!!!!

We arrived and had to wait a while for our room as we were early so in the meantime we had a chance to look around the place, which is when we realised we had been totally mislead. They'd obviously spent so much money making their website look great the hotel itself has suffered as it could do with a serious refurb!

Water feature garden which was in fact empty and run down!! The restaurant was dark and dingy and smelt funny and the pool shuts every afternoon from 14.00-16.00, apparently due to Italian security laws, which isn't true!!!!!

We didn't even take our bags out of our car, but left and found another hotel, unfortunately we'd paid a deposit of 450 euros, which they refused to refund! They were charging 1814 euros for 7 nights bed & breakfast for 2 adults and a child, in all honesty they should by paying people to stay there. The place was deserted, so maybe they couldn't even manage that!

Go somewhere else.

Promotes itself as a four star hotel, but is definately 2 - 3 star material.
The hotel is "weird" indeed. Obviously a family run hotel it tries hard, but don't quite make it. Staff is unprofessional, and not very friendly either. Breakfast is poor, pool bar/restaurant is rarely open, dinner menu is very limited.

Unless you really want quiet neighborhood and a pool, you'd be better off choosing one of the Frommers recommended three star hotels from closer to the city centre, as location of this hotel is high on the hill (500m of steep walk path with stairs). If you don't have a car, have a child or are not in good physical condition, stay away.
