I stayed at Antica Torre just for one night, but would like to highly recommend it. The hospitality of the management was very much worth the entire stay.
The place is lovely, very close to Salsomaggiore and yet located in the countryside with a beautiful view over the hills around.
The rooms very charming, clean and welcoming.
We decided to have dinner there and it was superb and at a very accessible price!

This was our third visit to this very special place. It is a lovely agriturismo establishment high up in the beautiful hills near the popular (with Italians) spa town of Salsomaggiore Terme. The farm is centred around vey old buildings, which have been converted into simple but good and spotlessly clean accommodation. The Pavesi family who run the place are the most charming people one could wish to meet. The signora, Vanda, cooks the most amazing local dishes with great skill, and she seems to supervise the accommodation, too. Emanuele, who is joined by Daniela, is in charge of wines. The wines, which are produced fromtheir own grapes, are of a very good quality. The nocino - walnut liqueur - is to die for!!!!

It is peace and tranquility at an extraordinary level. The hosts are people who wish your stay to be happy and will give much good advice on places to visit and things to see. We have sampled several of these farm guest houses in Italy and this is by far the best, probably because of the input of the Pavesi family.

We long to return next year.

The tower was built in 1350 with rooms added much later. Small suite of rooms on each of the upper 3 floors offered quiet with countryside views. There also are other accommodations on the property. Stroll around the property and watch the sheep graze or lay by the pool. The site is good for day trips to Salsomaggiore or Parma. Try to visit some of the small castle towns nearby.

The most wonderful part of the stay was the family, very gracious and engaging. We had dinner with other guests on the outdoor patio both nights. The menu is the daily home cooked fare -- a wonderful four or five course meal with drinks for 20 Euro. One night, desert was prepared with figs picked that afternoon from trees on the property.

We will try to make this a stop any time we are in Italy.
