We recently stayed at the Hotel Miosotis and booked with Thomas Cook and the tour operator was Neilson.
When we booked the holiday we knew the accommodation would be basic, however we weren’t expecting it to be quite so basic.
The Hotel owners are really lovely people and we didn’t have an issue with them.. We were shocked that Neilson chose to represent such a basic and old Hotel. It is incredibly shabby and the rooms were pretty vile. The sheets were clean but the bed covers were dirty, the floor was dirty, the shower curtain made the bathroom smell of smoke every time we turned the shower on, the toilet looked like it had never been cleaned and was a very rusty unhygienic mess. Towels only get changed once during the week.
The food was also a disappointment to say the least, evening meals were a 3 course where you choose what you want the night before or in the morning. One of our friends chose salmon, the fish that was presented was certainly not salmon, it still had its head and eyes and looked more like a trout. The vegetable pie was a very sloppy cheese affair and the fresh fruit was definitely not fresh. There was no traditional Italian food all week on the menu. Breakfasts were not really worth getting out of bed for. The coffee wasn’t even good!
It was the shortest transfer we have ever had on a ski holiday and yet the rep said the food wasn’t going to be the best because they had to travel so far to get it! We were also told that accommodation in Sauze is all basic, so beware, a 2 star really is a 2 star! The unfortunate thing is that very few people complain so these tour operators get away with murder. There were many unhappy guests at the hotel the week we stayed there. If only they would complain to the reps.
The location of the hotel was ok, in between the clotes lift and Sportinia lift; there is a bus stop outside to take you a few hundred metres to Sportinia.
Don’t book this hotel, you will get ripped off and there are loads of better places to stay. The resort is lovely so make sure you do your homework before booking to avoid a very disappointing holiday like ours.
