“excellent value hotel”

we stayed at this hotel at half term, a group of adults with teenagers, booked with Crystal. The owners and staff were the friendliest and most helpful I have ever come across.

The all inclusive package was perfect, our daily sandwich fillings were so inventive. The starter salad bar had a choice of over 30 dishes, different every night and a meal in itself really. Then you had to make room for three more courses and as much wine as you wanted. Our rooms were clean comfortable and warm, not especially large but you don't spend much time in them when you are on a ski holiday.

Sauze is a good resort for all round skiing, lifts are a bit slow, but the scenery is wonderful, and the mountain restaurants not too pricey.

The village is really pretty and has a safe feel to it so we didn't worry about our teenagers going out at night without us.

Crystal reps were also very helpful and always available.

We are going back next year.

“Friendly staff, disappointing hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

Apart from the staff, who were excellent, this hotel was very disappointing!
Will (the manager) and the other staff couldn’t do enough for you and were very helpful and friendly…also under pressure…a hotel that no one leaves in the evening gets busy!
The food was basic, often cold. We were full board and ended up going out for meals! That’s how bad we thought the food was…becomes expensive when you pay twice! Full board also got you a packed lunch….two rolls the size and hardness of hand grenades (no butter and a slice of cheese…a slice of tomato if you were lucky), a bottle of water, a bar of chocolate and a piece of fruit….all to be carried when skiing! (Other hotels gave vouchers for the ski lodges…that fits in a wallet)
All inclusive drinks were served in plastic beakers…why? There were glasses behind the bar but you only had those if you purchased a drink.
The bar and restaurant (if you can call it one) was too small to cater for an all inclusive package…no one went out thus it was packed. The self service salad bar was badly located and blocked up the restaurant and the system meant it took ages to get any food. Meal times were rigid, even if you didn’t want the ‘hot’ breakfast you weren’t allowed into the restaurant until 8am. We wanted to catch the first bus to the slopes which meant a rush. Evening meals were between 7.15 and 8.15, but they weren’t pleased if you turned up after 7.45.
Rooms were basic, small windows and no view, but then again it is only 3*.
The whole hotel experience felt like boot camp not a holiday….shame really!
Bottom line…the owners will make money from all inclusive and it looks good in the Crystal brochure BUT all it does is put extra pressure on the willing staff and the hotel can’t cope with the extra pressure. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.

As for the resort, the skiing was excellent!

“Great stay at Miravalle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

Just returned from a week at the Miravalle. A lovely hotel. Good value for money. Very friendly staff. We had a head to head room which is really small. It is quite a walk up the hill to the bus but then the hotel was lovely and quiet - except during the free bar times!
Crystal reps good. Very helpful and well informed. It is reassuring to have their phone number for any problems or just advise The night ski is good value for money ( snow football and great pizza's) and the pub crawl is a must for any age. I'd go again. Try the hot chocolate cafe for 12 different types of warm chocolate drink.

“Friendly Hotel, 10 min walk to Clotes lift, 5 min on bus to Sportina Gondola”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

Just returned from the Hotel Miravalle last weekend, a group of 10 of us, we found the staff friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Food was nice, different every night, although the salad bar was much the same. Rooms were comfortable and perfectly adequate.
Great bar!! there's a 10 minute walk uphill to the Clotes Chairlift and ski bus service runs from bottom of lane to the Sportina Gondola every 20 mins. Would definately recomend the Hotel. The only thing on the 'downside' was that the table linen wasn't changed at all through the week, but as they are providing 'free' drinks service, I suppose they have to save money somewhere. But all in all a lovely Hotel with lovely staff. ++++

Will the owner is a true gent, and nothing is too much for him..
food was satisfactory, nice choice, portions just enough.
