“good hotel for a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I have spent a week at this hotel with a group of friends. The hotel is a nice cosy place with a good atmosphere, clean rooms, convenient location.
As my friend has already written her opinion, which I happen to agree with, I won't elaborate more. But the one thing I want to add is that we were at the hotel at the time the english guys "were beaten" by the hotel staff. I can certify that the owners were always very nice, cheerful and took the well-being of their guests as their highest priority. I can not imagine an ordinary situation where they might have lost their temper. I can also certify that the english guests that were kicked out of the hotel were so spaced out they were not only being loud, but also trying to get in to other guests' rooms, and othervise being annoying. Therefore, I can imagine why the hotel guy lost his temper, altough I certainly don't know the whole situation. All in all, I am certainly on the Italian side of this argument :)

Had a great time at this family run hotel, We were impressed with the location, convenient but not so central that it's noisy at night, It was friendly, clean and well maintained. the food was well prepared. It was a cheap stay but it felt quality. thanks everyone at Villa Cary

“Overly aggressive hotel staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

After just returning from a weeks long stay in this hotel this is the letter i sent immediately to Thomas Cook and Neilson once i arrived home.
I'd also like to say that the food was fine in the hotel, the rooom was a bit dated but ok and the room and hotel was cleaned every day.

I have just returned from a very disappointing skiing holiday. On the 2nd night of our holiday we went out for a few drinks after skiing (après-ski), 2 of our group arrived back to the hotel before i got there. When i got there my 2 friends were arguing with the hotel staff, basically my 2 friends were being a bit loud when they got back to the hotel but they got their key and went to the room. Then one of the hotel staff followed them shortly after, when he got to their room he hit one of my friends twice in the back and when he turned round he slapped him across the face and then hit my other friend in the face, this obviously resulted in an argument which moved down to reception which is when i got there. The hotel staff were saying they want all of our group out the hotel, i said to the lady who managed the hotel why did he go up there and assault them and she said "he said he's going up there to sort them out", she was the only English speaking member of staff. Now i understand if people come back after a few drinks and are being loud is not on, but surely if this was such a major problem the hotel staff or reps could have warned us not to do it again and that's fair enough, but to come and assault them is completely unacceptable. The nelson reps then came to our hotel, whilst i was talking to the reps in the hotel lobby, my 2 friends had been told to leave by the reps and were packing their bags as they didn't want to be staying in such a dangerous environment, the hotel manager came and grabbed me by the neck and started pushing me out the hotel. I said to the reps while he was assaulting me "what are you going to do about this?" and they just looked at me. Once outside i said to the reps "what are you going to do about what just happened?" and i was told "your in Italy now, this isn't England, ever heard of the mafia?". At the end of all this my 2 friends left the hotel and after talking to the English speaking hotel manager and reps the rest of our group were allowed to stay in the hotel. The nelson rep called Tim told me a few days later that in his report of the incident he said the hotel staff were being overly aggressive towards us, now this was only our second night and on the first night we all went to bed early because we was tired and wanted to have a good day skiing, so i can't understand why the hotel staff would act in this manner towards us. My 2 friends who were forced to leave had to find alternative accommodation, which the reps would not help them find, and cost them between 800 to 900 euros, I’m not sure of the exact price but they did keep their receipt. The rest of us who stayed in the hotel were made to feel completely unwelcome by the hotel staff at breakfast and dinner and if we had the money we would have left the hotel as well. Now I am completely disgusted about the way the hotel staff treated us and the way the reps dealt with the situation, i personally have been on many holidays and i have never been treated like this before. This in turn ruined all of our groups holiday as my 2 friends had little money left and we was made to feel unwelcome during our whole stay. I hope there is something you can do about this and I look forward to hearing your response.
Regards

“Cosy, in a good location, very friendly owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We were a group of 11 people and we liked this property. The location is good. The ski bus stops just in front of the hotel. There is "Carrefour express" supermarket across the street, pharmacy, bars, gifts shops. Just 3 minutes away (walking) there is a hotel, which offers SPA (huge whirpool, saunas and etc). Nice family runs this hotel. The rooms are not big, simple, but clean, warm, comfortable, cosy. Well, if someone gets up earlier in the morning, so you can hear the noise from the next room or corridor area, but use an earplugs, if it bothers you. The breakfast is ok (the fresh baked croissants smell so nice in the morning) and the dinner is good (one evening - beef, on the other - pork, chicken and etc). There is a set menu, but you can have a double portion, if you like something a lot. We liked the house vine :) The owners son David is a ski instructor, he is a good one and offers good discounts for the ski lessons. Also you can get a discount for skiis and boots rental with hotels recomendations. There is a WI FI, which costs 5 euro for a connection (during the whole stay). But if you need it, better ask for the room in the first floor or go to lobby :) Oh, by the way, at the lobby there are many table games (Monopoly, Bingo and many others). So, in the evening it is realy nice to come down and play with friends. I recomend it. The main reason is skiing. Good emotions makes look always at the bright side of everything :)
