We saw the photos of this place and thought it looked very nice. When we arrived for our 10 night stay we were horrified to find that the 2 bedroom apartment was tiny and freezing cold with a view of another building and 1 metre of lawn outside the room. THe heating did not work and the double bed was just two single beds put together. There were no double blankets and we froze all night. The bunk bed did not have a safety barrier so one of our children had to sleep on the sofa. There was room only for the bed in the master bedroom and no cupboard space or space for our suitcases. The building itself is on a main road opposite a factory with no nice outlook.
We disliked this place so much that we left and forfeited the money it cost to stay there as we thought it would ruin our holiday to stay there for 10 days.
The manager told us he would refund us if they rented the room to someone else and that he would phone us if someone else stayed there. We checked the room during that week and found someone staying there but we did not get any phonecalls. We went back to the hotel and they refused to give us any refund for the 4 nights that someone else stayed in our room. I asked to speak to the owner and the person in reception refused to let us speak to her. I made a complaint to the Tourism Office about this place. The rooms are NOTHING like the ones pictured on the internet. This place is not nearly as good as a youth hostel. If you stay there it will spoil your holiday so quite simply - DO NOT STAY THERE.

It was my first time in Riva, and the location was perfect. Residence Paradise is close to the beach, just a 10 minute walk and the employees are very friendly. Especially our hostess who made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and had all the means we needed to cook. So do not bring any pans with you or anything else regarding cooking as it is available in the appartement. I have been to many countries, but i surely will visit Riva again staying at Residence Paradise. Good memories!
