We stayed at the Corallo for one night as a last-minute day trip. We had been in Venice and came down to Bologna for one day, then to Riccione for one night. Our friends booked our room for us, so we didn’t know what to expect.
We paid 188 Euros (including taxes) per night, per room for two rooms. That worked out to about $525 for one night, so we had high expectations. The hotel is right on the beach. It has a very nice outdoor pool area, which is very well set up to accommodate families with small children. The hotel lobby is spacious.
The rooms, however, were not spectacular. There wasn’t anything wrong with them. They were just smaller than I was expecting for $250+ per night and weren’t particularly luxurious. The included breakfast was very extensive, with plenty to choose from and a very nice eating area.
The hotel staff were very helpful, especially the front desk. Anything we asked for, they provided. The included wireless internet was reliable. They have bicycles that you can borrow on request (which we did more than once). But when we went to the front desk to inquire about booking and printing train tickets, they merely handed us a laptop.
We stayed at this hotel because our friends recommended it and booked it for us. We were only there one night and didn’t eat on the premises. It met our needs and I suspect the price (which seemed high) is in line for the other numerous properties in the area given that we were there at the peak of the summer season. We certainly had no complaints to our friends who booked it for us.
