“We loved it and we are back for June and July 2011 !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

We have made Riccione,Italy our little world for Summer Vacations, family style. First our daughter ..and now our grandaughter. The Corallo Hotel is a destination like no other because the family and all those concerned with the hotel are Professional and perform their positions with pride and caring. Each year we are welcomed with smiles and new surprizes. The Hotel Staff offers parties, activities for children and cocktail receptions for all clients. The large pool, across the street from the Adriatic Sea is a kind of meeting place for everyone. The bar service is extraordinary poolside and provides free snacks of salami's, cheeses, fruits and baked goods daily. (think mini-meals)! There are bicycles always available--for little trips around the town. I think family reunions are well suited here because of the many choices available. We are always more than satisfied with the Corallo....it is a home away from home.

Room Tip: Rooms are Spacious and face the coastline super water views great morning and evening.

“Kids holiday Camp / Un asilo da 4* con zero atmosfera”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2009

Good points:
Location . Quite near the centre . Exactly 1 km walk down elegant Viale Gramsci to v. Ceccarini.
Nice bicycle ride down to Cattolica
Underground Parking. Plenty of free spaces
Salvatore the Barman very attentive and obliging.
Aircon worked very well and room always beautifully cool.
Reception Staff very attentive and obliging.

Bad points.
This hotel is packed full of families with kids, so do not stay here if you wish to avoid children and their concomitant confusion. Please see the amount of prams outside the restaurant in our photo to prove this point.
The first night we almost checked out because the hotel has ZERO atmosphere. After we had unpacked and showered we all sat on the terrace with a " oh no, not 10 days of this " look on our faces. We ended up staying purely because we couldn't get a refund and the other hotels fully booked. It would not have been so bad if you were staying on business trip at a city hotel but Riccione/Rimini is the biggest holiday resort in italy! Most other hotels nearby had some sort of entertainment at least once a week, and we were always standing on the street looking in at their parties/music going on with envy thinking "Wished we booked this one. " The extremely flattering hotel brochure photos is an optical illusion making it out to be literally on the beach front. Fact is it has a busy main road (viale milano) and there is now a huge newly built annex in front.
(see photo)
Food. The food was very well cooked but the Restaurant (apart from the hot plates) consisted of a buffet which was 85 % identical every day. Wasn't bad for 4- 5 days but was very samey after a while.

Also the internal decor is very tired and I have photos of a broken stair slab, exposed wires from the landing wall light on the first floor. I have NEVER seen a hotel elevator in a modern 4 star hotel covered in graffiti which must have built up over years. If you decide to go , look in the right hand one behind the door. Surely after all this time a lick of paint would of not been to much to ask from the "royal family" owners who drift around the hotel poker faced having nothing to do with the customers. Even if you try and politley acknowledge them which we tried to do.

Overall not a bad hotel but pricey and very tired in places with the atmosphere of the wake at a funeral instead of a holiday resort hotel. A paradise for young families with children who wish to be left alone and surrounded by other young families with children.

“Best family holiday you can ever find...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2009

I myself am a guest of this wonderful hotel ever since I was born.
My Grandmother took my mother there and she took me, now it is my turn to take my children. We go back to Riccione 2-4 times every year and it feels like home, not only because I know just about everyone of the staff and they make me feel welcome and cosy more than at home, but also because of the great service (ask for anything and the staff will do their very best to fullfill anything possible), the excellent food and the nice rooms! At Riccione this is the place to stay at and there is absolutely no other chioce!
The hotel is located directly at the beach and most of the rooms have a great seaview!
It takes about 5 minutes to walk to V. Ceccarini, the shopping mile. If you arrive by plane, no problem, the hotel has a private shuttlebus, if you decide to come by car there is a big garage! The hotel offers private babysitters but also has a big "Miniclub" offering activites every day and the children love it. There's an extra dining room for the children, which opens earlier than the main restaurant and offers food children prefer.
There's a refreshing pool and a second one is being built at the moment as well as a wellness center. Obviously I have never been there for business, but the hotel holds many congress' and has bigger and smaller rooms for conventions and meetings.
In the summer, once a week the hotel organises a bbq on the beach which is always a great experience to remember for all the guests.
I can not wait until next year to return and will enjoy the last rays of sun in September already before I will spend the winter dreaming of my next summer holiday at Riccione!

“nice place, great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2008

The best thing about this hotel was the incredible service I received from the desk staff. They all spoke great English and called several of the nightclubs to check open status (alot of stuff in Riccione closes in September) as well as get directions for me from the hotel. They supplied me with an electricity converter when my own crapped out on me as well as wine glasses from the restaurant so I could enjoy a bottle I had bought in Tuscany upstairs. The breakfast staff in the restaurant was equally kind.

The lobby/downstairs areas are bright and attractive, and the overall decor helps put you in a good mood.

The room and bathroom were spotless and smelled great, although the hallways all reek of cigarettes. The shower lacked a curtain and only had a small partition covering one quarter of the side of the shower, necessitating hand-held use of the spray handle.

The room was also quite cold and the max temperature produced no heat. Riccione is not freezing cold, but can be quite chilly on a mid-September night.

The view was decent, but about a third of it was obstructed by construction of a new wing of the hotel closer to the ocean.

Breakfast was somewhat limited (no eggs or muffins) and the fruit was not very fresh.

A four star place in Italy is not the same as what you get for four stars in the US, but the staff and appearance of the place really won me over and I would probably stay again.

“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2008

Good 4* hotel: services, furnishing, breakfast, situation. Stayed on the second floor. Indeed the traffc can be a bit noisy in the evening. On the higher floors the situation is better. There is some construction going on south of the hotel. Just mention your requirements and ask for a proper room with a good view of the beach.
Hotel Pool is a bit small but proper and nice to cool off. The hotel has no fitness machines but offers the nearby Therme. There is fitness, but only open from 9:00 am to 13:00. The hotel offers (push) bikes which are great to explore the city and beachfront. The beachfront is only a 50 m away and good for running excercise or walk.
WIFI connection was quickly established. The signal on the second floor was at times weak.
The hotel is located in the quiter more relaxed parts of Riccione. Restaurants, winehouse gelateria and shops are just around the corner.
