Having actually to give this hotel even a one star is not even tempting. We were staying at the same time as the family from Shrewsbury and have to re-iterrate their comments. There is more atmosphere in a funeral parlour than there was at this hotel. After looking at wonderful pictures on the internet at this 'magnificent' hotel we expected to be greeted by out own personal butler but alas no. A half smile and grunt sufficed.
What a shame as outiside of the temple of doom walls there is an actual lovely place called Riccione with very nice people.
We hired a small but rounded car for the week and found that it was not allowed to be parked outside the front of the hotel amongst the fine specimens of Ferarri's and such, a meagre car like ours was parked in an underground, unused ballroom, just in case it spoilt the admiring glances from the menial public taking photographs outside the hotel gates.
Trying to find a sunbed was again a daunting task. So therefore one had to sit at an unocuppied table and wait patiently for a bed to be free but were surprised to be shooed away with very bad hand gestures from one of the poolside waiters. After complaining we were told that these tables were only for people having lunch.
Having asked to speak to the manager of this alleged 5 star hotel we were told by one of the receptionists he would be out to see us straight away................... we waited, ..................., we waited ..... and we waited for half an hour ....... but he did not appear. The manager also did not acknowledge us for the whole time of our stay. We were told that the manager did not actually speak English (is that what you would expect from a five star hotel?).
In our opinion the staff actuallly believed the hype that they were the only five star hotel in Riccione?
