We stayed at Villaggio Calispera for two weeks as a timeshare guest. While the location was beautiful and the swimming pool was nice the rooms were as spartan as is possible to be. The beds were so hard we decided to sleep on the sofa bed which was at least soft.
At the time of checking in we were asked by English speaking Anna if
we wanted half board at 25 euros each so we decided to give it a try.The breakfast was nothing but a cup of coffee and a piece of bread and the evening meal would have been cheaper if we had gone a la carte. We complained and so were told we couldnt' havethe money back but could spend our remaining 50 euros on whatever we liked in the restuarant. We had the vino rosso delcasa and it was frizzy. The cheeky mnager told us this was quite normal for Calabria! I don't think so!
I was asked to pay eight euros for towels and when I asked for the sheets to be changed mid week as it was very hot I was told this would be five euros but I could wash them myself using their washing machine which also cost 5 euros! When I asked about having the room cleaned at the end of the first week I was told that this was not part of the contract with RCI. We'dbooked two separate weeks with RCI so surely room cleaning has to be done at the end of the week! Another thing we objected to was having to pay 4 euros each for their so called 'club' which meant use of the pool, the tiny little beach at the bottom of the cliff and entertainment which had all dried up by this time. The sun beds were removed the day before we had finished our holiday. I would keep away from here if you are timeshare!
