“Gorgeous hotel - feels like you're on top of the world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Beautifully renovated rooms and bathrooms with nice updated touches like outlets for all different regions - loved that! Our balcony overlooking the ocean and below to Minori was such a nice little oasis....loved sitting out there with wine or champagne in the late evening...but in the morning the bees swarmed our breakfast so we moved it to our table inside. Best hotel breakfast room service INCLUDED in the rate of the room. Couldn't even believe the variety and deliciousness. I preferred getting it in the room to going to the buffet.

Now for the pool...gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the hills, the vineyards, and the ocean. Most of the poolside seating is in gardens NOT directly next to the pool...but it's peaceful nonetheless. Also compared to the picture on the website, the pool has chairs all around and gets fairly crowded...so keep that in mind when picturing the pristine pool all to yourself! The servers by the pool are SO friendly and helpful with chairs, towels, umbrellas, drinks, etc. Also the lunch at the pool restaurant is outstanding...some of the best pizza we had in Italy...but beware it is uber expensive.

The hotel is a very short walk into the Ravello town square which is lovely. We visited Villa Rufolo which was a nice thing to do in the early afternoon before rushing back to that pool!

We took the boat ride that is included in the rate one afternoon. It was just ok. Honestly it moved a little slow for my taste so you felt the movement of the sea and a poor little girl on the boat was a little seasick. It was a nice "tour" of the coastline, and we had a wonderful swim to a beach near Positano, but not the best boating experience I've ever had!

We used the spa here...not first rate. The service/massage was wonderful, but the facilities are lacking in comparison to most 5 star hotel spas that we have visited.

One complaint is there was a wedding the Saturday night that we stayed. I know there's nothing we can do to avoid that, but the decorations were set up 3 days in advance and didn't obstruct the view, but kind of took away from it. In addition on Saturday night the barbecues from the wedding sent overwhelming smoke around the property. Somewhat unpleasant.

Overall a lovely and classic hotel in a breathtaking setting. Very pricey, but worth it for a few nights of wonderful relaxation and luxury.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a balcony with a view of the ocean.

“Absolutely Perfect”

I stayed here over the summer for a long weekend in 2010 and couldn't have been happier with my choice of hotels. I had originally wanted to stay at the Il San Pietro Di Positano, but it was sold out. I stayed in a Junior Suite Deluxe and it was out of this world. The view from my large wrap-around balcony was the best ever.

The infinity pool was just as advertised - incredible views. My buddy and I had just done 3 days in Rome and 3 days in Florence and we relished the opportunity to just relax poolside. The hotel garden was incredibly beautiful (and I'm not one to appreciate gardens). The staff were very nice and very helpful with whatever you wanted to do.

The food could have been better, but we were spoiled having just come from Florence where the food was the best in the world. There were local Italian restaurants just a few blocks away in Ravello that were great though.

I'm used to staying at the Four Seasons, Ritz, & the One and Only, and this is on par with all of them. It was as beautiful a hotel as any I have stayed in.

“Magical Ambience, Over the top service, unforgettable views.”

Just returned from Hotel Caruso in Ravello, and I must say I cannot wait to return. This hotel is a magical hotel out of a fairy tale, from the breathtaking views, unbelievably friendly staff, stunning decor and hand painted ceilings dating back to year 1100. the location on the top of the hill in Ravello cannot be beat, just a short walk to the town square of Ravello. The hotel provides a free daily boat cruise along the Amalfi coast that is a must do. We went on a 2 hour cruise on a lovely day that was unforgettable, we went all the way down to Positano and back. The hotel also provides free shuttles to Positano and Amalfi. Honestly, you can stay here at Hotel Caruso for 5 nights ( which we did) and never get bored. There are a ton of things to see and do right from here, and this town is the most charming village we visited on the Amalfi coast. Tons of great shops, 2 amazing villas to visit , some nice hikes right from the hotel to Scala or down to the next village over. Every meal we had at Hotel Caruso was 5 star, and the service matched. We feel like the dining staff are our family now, we got to know them and connected with so many amazing people who worked there. We visited some other hotels along this area, and glad we chose to spend most of our time at Caruso. Being in the travel industry for 18 years now myself, I can honestly say that this is one of my top picks for an over the top Italy honeymoon!

Room Tip: I would pay extra for a sea view its worth every penny

“A majestic view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

If you have the opportunity to travel to this majestic location in Naples, Italy....it is absolutely worth it. Ravello is a small town located at the top of a mountain full of history and majestic views of the surrounding areas. Hotel Caruso fits in perfectly with its history, views, service and friendly and attentive staff. The rooms are beautiful and the private terraces are fantastic.

Room Tip: Rooms with terraces facing the mountain side are worth every penny....just for the view.

“Best Hotel I've Ever Stayed At”

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Caruso during our honeymoon in June, 2009. It's hard to pin down exactly why this hotel is so amazing, but I would honestly give it 7 stars if that was possible. I travel a lot and stay in all types of hotels/resorts - from local mom/pop places to luxury resorts. The staff, the views, the food, the rooms - everything was just truly top notch. Absolutely perfect place for a honeymoon or romantic sojourn.
