The hotel is a mid range business hotel; It is clean, tidy and functional. The staff were all very pleasant and extremely helpful. The restaurant is dire and should be avoided at all costs. The breakfast was Italian minimalistic. The underground carpark was free and a great boon.
The Hotel Montreal is located just off the main street (Corso Italia) in the centre of modern Ragusa, approx 200 metres from the Cathedral. From this location its very easy to get to the main shopping street (Via Roma) and the sights of the new town.
To get to the old Ragusa Albi is not far in distance but is a very exhausting walk, since it is all the way down the steep hill via numerous steps and then back up to the Piazza Duomo. I would suggect taking the car. It is well worth the visit but not for the unfit.

No decent views at all, I had the smallest room at the top of the building, but my friends also had rooms on different floors with no views. My room was tiny, but very clean. Toilet was too small. Breakfast was basically bread and jam, no Internet access. The worsed part was the lack of a night bar. The bar (and the town) closed at midnight. The night staff were very stict about this, and would not even allow our party to gather together for a drink of water and a chat! The food was at best predestrian, at worst it was school dinners, combined with their idea or lack of customer service, I would not recommend a visit to this place. Look else where for the famous Sicilian welcome. Me and my friends found lots of cafe's around Ragusa that more than made up for this terrible hotel, I'm sure you could too. In short look else where.
