We had originally booked a week's stay in a hotel resort in Chia. A few months before we were due to stay there I had a quick look at some of the most recent reviews and was disappointed read that many them had felt that they did not receive value for money in terms of the room size etc. As we paying a high nightly rate for the smallest room we thought it was best to find somewhere else that offered better value, so I found the Nora Club Hotel and I am so glad I did.
Nora Club Hotel is situated a 10 minute walk from the lovely town of Pula and 15 min walk from the lovely little beach and site of Nora. We were still able to visit the lovely beaches of Chia in our hire car which was 20 minute drive. As soon as we arrived I was instantly impressed by the calmness and tranquillity of the gardens and pool area, we almost felt it was too quiet as came through all hot and bothered after a long drive from Alghero, however within half an hour we were sitting by beautiful pool enjoying a refreshment from the bar.
The rooms are set back from the pool surrounded by the beautiful gardens, the beds are extra comfy and I loved the bamboo ceilings. Loved the privacy of each room with its own patio, Very quiet at night and slept so well that some days I could hardly pull myself out of bed!
Breakfast's are plentiful with lots of choice - the fresh orange juice is superb and the selection of cereal and fruit gave us a good start to the day!
In terms of service we were so impressed and grateful for Stefan who starts his shift around 5pm by going round the pool and serving drinks, asking each person how their day was and making dinner reservations. On the first evening Stefan talked us through all the surrounding area's and the activities we could do. His English was impeccable and we found him an absolute delight, you really feel so looked after by him, he genuinely cares about your experience.
I can not recommend this place enough and it is very rare find a hotel where I am totally happy with, but this was it. I'd avoid the hot summer months of July and August and aim for June or September. I think this made a real difference for the overall experience. We also had a room with the roof terrace for the last few nights which I highly recommend - great if you want to stay in with a take away pizza sitting out on your own private terrace playing a game of cards!
I think my partner shed a tear when he had to leave - I really hope to return one day to this beautiful part of Sardinia and spend another week in paradise.
Room Tip: Book the roof terrace!
