“Good, cosy place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

Good, cosy hotel halfway Pula town and the beaches / ruins of Nora. Rooms are a bit smallish, but that is compensated for by the fantastic garden and big swimming pool. Staff is very helpful, and gives good advice on restaurants, excursions. Breakfast is a bit limited, but you can order all you want, and it will appear on your table. In the near future the hotel will build an adjacent wellness-centre, which will make it still more a good starting point for holidays and business stays. Quiet atmosphere.

“WONDERFUL”

We stayed at the Nora Club Hotel in September last year and had such a great time we visited again in June – this time taking our son for his 30th birthday and his girlfriend. I can only reiterate what everyone else says, it is a wonderful oasis of peace and tranquillity. We did not have a car and it was an easy walk to the town of Pula and to the beach. There are some lovely restaurants in Pula. The hotel is run efficiently and happily by Madam Cappellari and her staff, who all make you feel very welcome. The maids always greeted us with a cheery buongiorno, Valentina at breakfast and the ladies on the front desk were always smiling, helpful and polite. Undoubtedly the star of the staff is Stefano – always friendly, happy to give advice on trips and restaurants to visit. I think it’s fair to say we will return, it’s just a question of when! One tiny point – we thought at 10 euros a day the hire of the bikes was too much.

“Just perfect.”

We had originally booked a week's stay in a hotel resort in Chia. A few months before we were due to stay there I had a quick look at some of the most recent reviews and was disappointed read that many them had felt that they did not receive value for money in terms of the room size etc. As we paying a high nightly rate for the smallest room we thought it was best to find somewhere else that offered better value, so I found the Nora Club Hotel and I am so glad I did.

Nora Club Hotel is situated a 10 minute walk from the lovely town of Pula and 15 min walk from the lovely little beach and site of Nora. We were still able to visit the lovely beaches of Chia in our hire car which was 20 minute drive. As soon as we arrived I was instantly impressed by the calmness and tranquillity of the gardens and pool area, we almost felt it was too quiet as came through all hot and bothered after a long drive from Alghero, however within half an hour we were sitting by beautiful pool enjoying a refreshment from the bar.

The rooms are set back from the pool surrounded by the beautiful gardens, the beds are extra comfy and I loved the bamboo ceilings. Loved the privacy of each room with its own patio, Very quiet at night and slept so well that some days I could hardly pull myself out of bed!

Breakfast's are plentiful with lots of choice - the fresh orange juice is superb and the selection of cereal and fruit gave us a good start to the day!

In terms of service we were so impressed and grateful for Stefan who starts his shift around 5pm by going round the pool and serving drinks, asking each person how their day was and making dinner reservations. On the first evening Stefan talked us through all the surrounding area's and the activities we could do. His English was impeccable and we found him an absolute delight, you really feel so looked after by him, he genuinely cares about your experience.

I can not recommend this place enough and it is very rare find a hotel where I am totally happy with, but this was it. I'd avoid the hot summer months of July and August and aim for June or September. I think this made a real difference for the overall experience. We also had a room with the roof terrace for the last few nights which I highly recommend - great if you want to stay in with a take away pizza sitting out on your own private terrace playing a game of cards!

I think my partner shed a tear when he had to leave - I really hope to return one day to this beautiful part of Sardinia and spend another week in paradise.

Room Tip: Book the roof terrace!

“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

I cannot recommend this beautiful family hotel enough. The location is perfect as you can walk to Nora beach but also to Pula town. The hotel recommends excellent restaurants and will book them for you. This is Italy at its best - a traditional family run hotel with excellent service and beautiful surroundings. This was our second visit and we will return!

Room Tip: Ground floor overlooking the pool are nice but there are not really any undesirable

“Utterly tranquil & delightful little hotel - great staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

I loved this place - one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed. After 4 exhausting months at work I just needed somewhere to rest - and this place fitted the bill perfectly.
Gardens & pool beautifully and carefully maintained. We spent many days just lying and sleeping in the pool area - which has as much sun or shade as you could wish for. The pool is spotlessly clean and always space for swimming or just cooling down.

Incredibly friendly and sweet natured staff - particularly Stefano who seems only to work evenings. He worked in London for many years and speaks perfect English. Take his advice on where to eat - we particularly enjoyed Gian-Carlo on Via Nora (a short walk from the hotel). Ristorante (and Pizzeria) Murales just two minutes on is also fantastic. Best pizza ever eaten. Stefano will make reservations for you. The main square in town has some lovely little restaurants also.

Bedrooms are spotless- a little dated but clean and incredibly comfortable. Great air conditioning. Breakfast is plentiful - lots of fresh fruits, hams, cheeses, yoghurts etc.

We loved this place - and will definitely visit again. One of the oct restful and relaxing weeks we have ever spent. The old lady who owns the place is also delightful and treats you like one of the family. Fortunately there were few Germans, so you could always get a place on a sun lounger!

A car is useful but not essential - you can rent bikes from the hotel and the walk into the centre is only 10 minutes away (and is very safe!) If you plan to visit more distant beaches (Chia is the loveliest) then a car is essential. Just watch the Sardinian drivers who are scary.
