A charming home, a marvelous garden: you wake up to the aroma of jasmine and lemons growing in the garden. Two restful decks to relax on if you are coming back from a trek or the beach.

Giuseppe was the most kind and gracious host. He went above and beyond to call around on our behalf for reservations and bus info. The rooms are cute, well kept, and had all of the amenities that we needed. The community garden was our very favorite place to relax and take in the absolutely stunning view. We could sit there for hours just soaking up the atmosphere and views. The location is perfect. They have direct access down to the beach, a short walk up to the main street restaurants and shops, and a bus stop just a few steps away. We would absolutely stay here again if we are so fortunate to be able to make the trip back to Italy someday. Praiano and Casa Stella Marina were one of our favorite stops on our trip!

The best thing about this property is that there are no stairs required to get to your room. On the Amalfi Coast, where every place is perched on a hillside, that is very rare. The local bus drops you off right in front of the hotel, there is a short ramp to the main level, and than an elevator takes you down the cliffside to your room. And the view from the room is spectacular. The host is very congenial, speaks excellent English, and serves a continental breakfast either on the terrace or in your room. A full breakfast is available for a small additional charge. Parking is also available right on the property. Several good restaurants are just a short walk away. The local bus can take you right to Amalfi, Positano, or Sorrento.

We have stayed at the Stella Marina Bed & Breakfast for 5 days late Dec. 2007. we stayed in what they call the “Blue Room”
Here are some inputs:
1st – It was very hard to find the place, no large visual sign was available
2nd – The have some parking problems as several times they have requested us to move the car even we were in the middle of breakfast
3rd – The toilet was not cleaned at all, actually there were quit filthy. When we notify the land lord regarding this he said: “It’s no possible that the house keeper didn’t clean them…. At the end of the days we ended up cleaning them ourselves
4th – We got a nice bottle of wine in the room but after 2 days when our room was cleaned it was taken….amazing…
5th – The breakfast is quit poor and served in another hotel in a distance of aprox 50 meters, quit bad in rainy days
6th – When we asked for the bill we were asked for 30 EU extra. When we asked what for they told us it’s for parking, when we asked why they haven’t notified us ahead they said they thought we are arriving with a train….unbelievable

On the bright side
1st – Very nice view
2nd – very good price, 50 EU per day

Note that there is no coffee or tea in the room and the balcony shown in the picture is very small
