All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful.
Our pristine room had a stunning view of the Amalfi coast.
While we tried many restaurants in the area, Buca di Bacco was by far the best!
We ended up eating there for the rest of our trip.
Chef Andrea Ruggiero is amazing, and very personable as well. He made wonderful dishes not on the menu, and every one was fantastic!
There is also a cafe downstairs, which is perfect for an afternoon snack and drink.
As I said, we could not have been happier, and we are actually returning there this summer!

Hotel Buca di Bacco would have to be the best accommodation available in Positano. My wife and I stayed in Positano for 4 glorious days last September. The Hotel is located on the water's and central to shops, restaurants and walks. The staff were very courteous and helpful and made our stay that much more enjoyable. We had an excellent room, which provided wonderful views of the water. Our room was spacious (by Italian standards) and clean. The breakfasts were of a very good standard. You could either have your breakfast indoor or outdoor on a large balcony overlooking the sea. Memorable! If we travel to the Amalfi Coast in the near future, then we would not hesitate to book at Hotel Buca di Bacco.

My husband and I stayed at Buca di Bacco in October 2011. We had spent 2 weeks in Italy and ended our vacation in Positano as a way to relax after all the travel. Positano is amazingly beautiful and Buca di Bacco is the best place to stay. Its location is perfect, right on the beach. Our room was very large and extremely clean. The bathroom was also large, clean and very well equipped. We had a small balcony where if we looked straight ahead, we saw the beach and the ocean. If we looked to our right, we saw the beautiful town of Positano. We slept with the doors to our balcony open; we fell asleep and woke up to the sound of the ocean! The only downside to this hotel is that they don't have a pool. However, you're steps from the beach, so a pool really isn't necessary. The hotel staff was very helpful and extremely nice. Breakfast each morning was very good. A couple of times, we requested coffee or tea to take back to our room. They asked for our room number, so we expected to be charged, but to our surprise, we were not! We hope to go back to Positano and if we do, we'll definitely stay at Buca di Bacco. We can't say enough good things about this hotel. If you go to Positano, you must stay at this hotel.

In late October we stayed here for four nights and we thought the hotel was excellent in every respect. Our room was clean and modern and looked out directly across the beach to sea. I preferred this location at the beach rather than up the hill in the heart of the town. We also had dinner at their related restaurant underneath the hotel and by the beach. We thought the quality of our meals here were excellent and conparatively were the best quality and value on the seafront. This was a perfect environment for an informal and relaxed dinner.
