garden of Eden...excellent location...view of the ocean from sitting on our bed..corner grocery store 3 min walk, far enough away from town that we werent in tourist zone but only a 5 min walk to all the shops...Paul and Lucia were the best hosts we have ever had...the rooms were spotlessly clean and everything was functional. The kitchen was well equipped. There is no T.V., radio or alarm clock., but I am sure Paul would wake you up if you needed to get some place early and who needs a t.v. when the ocean and star filled sky lend itself to romantic evenings. The deck is in the shade by 7 pm so cooler summer breezes greet you when you return from your day of excursions. Paul and Luci will help you organize your events or local townspeople will...and believe it or not..Positano is not overpriced as suggested by some...Paul and Lucia offer an excellent place to relax at a fair price. We are planning on returning and this time we will stay at Casa Maresca for atleast 3 weeks...

My wife, adult son and I stayed at Casa Maresca for 6 nights as a result of a recommendation of a friend who had a very good stay here a few years ago. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment. Paul and Lucia were very good hosts, so welcoming and helpful. The apartment was spacious with ocean facing balconies and a separate deck area that also had a great view. The rooms are nicely appointed. We enjoyed the kitchen and the opportunity to prepare some of our meals. A very good restaurant is directly across the street, Next2. A grocery store is about a 5 minute walk away. We are now back in Vancouver Canada with fond memories of our Positano stay.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in June. Paul and Lucia were welcoming and very thoughtful hosts. Our room was one of four that went out onto a lovely large deck with stunning views. Our room was very clean and spacious as was the bathroom.
The location of Casa Maresca was great. Near excellent restaurants (recommended by Paul and Lucia), 5 minutes walk from a grocer/convenience store, and about 10 minutes walk to the main beach and shopping area.
We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed for 8 days in August 2010 in one of the rooms with the shared terrace. The room and bathroom was squeaky clean, the bed was comfortable and the small fridge was an extra bonus to keep our wine cold . There was also a electric jug and plates and knives and forks etc so you could make your own breakfast lunch.
There is a large terrace shared by 4 rooms, but there is lots of space for each room to have their own table and chairs and some privacy.

The terrace has a lovely view of the sea and the location is right where you want to be, just down a few stairs from the main road (a real plus in Positano where there are hundreds of stairs to everything). There are a number of resturants within 5 mins walk and if you want to go down to resturants in the town, that is about 20 mins walk.
The bus stop is just down the road.

Paul and Lucia are wonderful hosts, full of advice and knowledge about the ferries, buses, resturants etc. Lucia is always there early in the morning if you need an early wake up call, she will knock on the door.

Lucia was wonderfully kind when I had a medical problem, by ringing the doctor who spoke very little english and then coming to the room when he visited so she could explain things to him for me.

Paul brought me lemons straight from his tree in the garden and also the complimentary bottle of wine that was there when we checked in was wonderful. He also helped with the luggage down the stairs.

Altogether we could not have had a more relaxing, comfortable stay in Positano.

There is an apartment on the top level above the rooms and that is where I would stay in the future if it is available, as the deck looked lovely.

If you think that you cant afford to stay in Positano because of the high prices, think again.
It isnt a 4 star hotel but a lovely comfortable, family owned b & b.
