Exceptional location right off the main beach but still quiet. Amazing breakfast, awesome pool, great service. Totally decadent.

Very nice hotel, close to the beach so you have a great view of the town and the water, but you can stay at the rooftop pool which is much nicer than the beach! Compared to the other places we stayed in Italy, the staff was stuffy and not very friendly, but they were helpful when you asked for it. We had a junior suite, which was a really nice size, with a balcony overlooking the water.

We would go back to the Covo Dei Saraceni in a heart beat.... if we could. The hotel is perfectly and positively located in Positano, along the Amalfi coast. Forget 4 star, five star and over- the- top nonsense. Covo has more than enough stars. Great room with a spectacular terrace and ocean view right around the corner from the pool. Staff couldn't do enough for you including arranging magnificent tours (we went to Pompeii and Ravallo), making excellent recommendations and reservations in support of other local establishments and making change in euros. Try doing that in Italy.
The filet mignon at the Covo was the best we had in our two weeks of touring Italy. Plenty of other places to experience the local fare. They're all good.
Check-in is unique. If you arrive by land, as we did, you get dropped off way up above the hotel. Private porters will deliver your bags, 5 euros per bag. Do it. The bags get there. Your walk down thru Positano to the Covo's entrance will be memorable. Otherwise, check-in is a breeze. Your bags will be waiting for you.
More importantly, we were in e-mail contact with Covo for more than a year before we checked-in. They always responded. They answered every question. They suggested alternatives to our way of thinking. We had the pleasure of knowing them before we even arrived. The staff did not disappoint.
E-mail them in advance. If your not satisfied with the response, go someplace else.
More room for us because we'd go back to the Covo Dei Saraceni in a heart beat... if we could.

We stayed three nights in September and arrived by sea with the boat 'parking' almost on the door-step of the hotel making checking-in almost a breeze in comparison with the experience of friends who had nearly 100 steps to negotiate before arriving at their hotels.
We had a balcony with breath-taking views - just the spot to sit and relax with a bottle of wine. The food at breakfast more than adequate, in fact we were spoilt for choice. Staff friendly and helpful and we were sorry to leave. Would love to return for longer stay.
