We stayed at this hotel in Oct 07 and loved it so much we arranged to visit again when we got married this year. 8 of our guests stayed here and they all loved it too.

It is located on one of the main walkways down towards the beach so is in a great location, particularly if you dont want to tackle 100's of steps each time you leave/go back to your hotel from the beach front.

The rooms were lovely and very clean, traditional style furniture but still quite modern, as they are so light and airy. We had 2 superior and 2 garden view rooms - the only difference really being the floor you are on - the higher floors have slightly better views of Positano.

The breakfast was great - fresh fruit, wonderful pastries, cheese/meats, fresh bread etc and additional for cooked items- all taken outside on the terrace with stunning views and flowers.
The terrace is so pretty we booked it for our wedding reception where we had champagne and canapes and a lot of family photos.

The staff are very helpful, polite and professional and will do anything for you to make your stay more comfortable.

All our other guests stayed at 4 other hotels and were all very jealous of where we were and just so happened to pop in for a drink with us at every opportunity!!!!

Will go back there everytime we visit Positano. I thoroughly recommend this hotel, it is smart without being stiff/ too formal.

We stayed here for one night in June, but wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel feels sumptuous and palatial. We felt very grand walking in and out of the gates, as the gardens are so beautiful, all the passers-by stop to look in!
The rooms are comfortable and clean, and well equipped. Staff very attentive. Unfortunately it was rainy when we were in Positano, but the receptionist lent us umbrellas. We will return to Positano, and will definitely stay here again.

The Palazzo Murat is a old Palace in the centre of Positano. It is quite a small hotel, with only 25 or so rooms. Each room is clean & well furnished, with all the usual facilities and individual Sky Satalite TV boxes.

The room we stayed in had a large terrace to the left, I think its one of the special rooms. This room is great for just sitting and relaxing looking over Positano.

The hotel has a bar area, an outdoor restaurant and gardens.

The food in the restaurant is superb, in fact I would say it is one of the best in the town.

The staff are excellant, and go out of there way to help you.

In fact we liked it so much we decided to get married in the gardens there.

If you are looking for a hotel with a view of the sea, its probably best to stay elsewhere as it only has a limited view. Also on facilities, there is no pool, but then most of the hotels in Positano do not have a pool, so we used the beach instead.

Overall, the palace is fantastic!

Fabulous Hotel! This placed really impressed us! We stayed in the older section, Room 1 which had a gorgeous balcony and view of the sea/hills of Positano. The hotel is right in the heart of Positano and was so very welcoming. Beautiful courtyard, reception, living room, bar areas. Staff was very helpful contacting restaurants and such. We couldn't decide between this one and Le Sirenuese and are glad we chose Hotel Palazzo Murat.
