“Great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

My wife and i stayed in the hotel in September 2011 as part of our honeymoon. We arrived by bus from Sorrento after flying into Naples from Sicily (Suggest you take the train from Naples to Sorrento rather than the bus like we did!) On our arrival, we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly (Daniella on the front desk and Christian who showed us to our room and helped with our bags). As with other TA reviews, we found that the hotel has a great location and the view from our balcony was stunning. The room was great but the bathroom is a little small (especially the shower cubicle). The free shuttle service run by the hotel is really useful and provides great access into the town if you don't fancy walking down the hill or coming back up the steps from the beach (be warned there are alot of steps!) Our only complaint is that the included breakfast is small and lacks choice (tea, coffee, juice, yoghurt, croissant and a small packet of crispy bread). Anything else, costs extra and that is a bit disappointing for a four star hotel. Breakfast aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

“great friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

We stayed in hotel during september and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay there. The location of the hotel is perfect well out of the hussle and bussle of touristy Positano. The hotel run a shuttle bus into Positano and public transport is easily accessible with a bus stop right near the hotel. All the staff in the hotel are very friendly and do their very best to help with any request you may have.Facilities are very good , rooms are well decorated with a lovely antique theme and are spotlessly clean. The only thing i can say negative about this hotel is that the breakfast is poor for the standard of the hotel but this is only a minor issue.Overall a great stay and would recomend.

“Beautiful view, clean rooms, but stingy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

The rooms were really clean and the views were beautiful. I will say that my expectation for a 4 star resort is that I am not nickled and dimed for every little thing. Be prepared that Internet is not wireless and will cost you 10 euro per day. Laundry service is 20 euro per load and be sure you all have the same colors and specify only 1 load or they will take the liberty of seperating it for you and charge you for two loads w/o asking you if this is okay. The breakfast is included and the room service is great and free, but if you want eggs they will cost you 6 euro. Granted these extra cost seem like no big deal but they can add up. Great hotel just be aware of the added costs associated with your already over $200.00 per night room.

“Perfect Outpost”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

The reviews are spot on. Very nice place. We had two couples sharing the "apartment" - separate bedrooms and separate baths. Better suited for a family because of the disproportionate size. The master bedroom and master bath were huge and well appointed. Balcony and breakfast for 4 overlooking the sea was splendid. The 2nd BR w/ bath is smaller. No separate central seating room.

Staff is excellent and very helpful. Building is bright white and exceptionally clean.

Key observations: Hilltop location is very close to the landmark "Bar Internationale". Buses go right to this marker. Another landmark is the construction crane perched nearby. 2 markets just steps away have very reasonably groceries and gelato.

Shopping tip: You can buy all the clothing you want in this town known for its fine linen. But most businesses including the beach clubs and boat rentals sport their own custom white polos with Positanto/ logo/ Italian flag. Its a perfect purchase to remind you of the great time spent here. Just ask them to sell you one.

Room Tip: Every room has an unobstructed view to the sea. Some terraces are huge while some balconies are smal...

“would definitely come back to this hotel !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

Recently stayed at this hotel with my husband and two teenaged daughters. We booked a quad room which was clean, spacious and offered a beautiful view of Positano from a large balcony. Service was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the town at certain times but local bus stop only one block away.
Other reviewers have complained about the breakfast, we found it sufficient although limited but it is continental not full-english!!. On our first night hotel staff offered to arrange a minivan provided by a nearby restaurant to take us there and back. A must if you're visiting Poistano,Pizzeria da Constantino offers a warm welcome, good food and breathtaking views.
Another gem we found was Restaurant da Gabrisa , a short walk from hotel. Mouth-watering food, excellent service and again amazing view!
On our last day hotel staff arranged a driver to take us to Sorrento and Pompeii on our way back to Naples at a reasonable price.
All in all a most enjoyable stay at this hotel. Great location, friendly and helpful hotel staff and a view that is second to none!!
