The Grand Hotel is a great hotel in a great spot. The restaurant is superb, and the staff cannot do enough for you. The pool area is one of the best I have experienced, and the beach is also nice. Stunning views and close proximity to the Porto Cervo marina mean that it is an excellent place to stay whilst enjoying all that the Costa Smerelda has to offer.
This part of Sardinia is very beautiful, and some of the best times are to be had on a scooter, discovering hidden beaches and restaurants. I went for a week with my girlfriend in early September and had one of the best holidays ever. I do not have anything bad to say about the place whatsoever. There are a few caveats however if I was to be REALLY picky:

1.) The main season is August so it does get quiet in September. That was fine for us, but just be aware. The prices also drop off a bit, but it is still quite expensive (180 eoros for a standard meal and wine for 2).

2.) Some of the hotel rooms are bit small and some a bit dated. The new block is definitely the place to stay (and if you can afford a suite then go for it).

3.) Taxis are extortionate in Sardinia, so make sure you fly to Olbia (and arrange hire car/ scooter before you arrive).

Some minor points which in no way took from what was a fantastic trip.

Oh, and if you can afford it and fancy splashing out, definitely go to the Hotel Cala di Volpe for dinner.

Excellent Hotel, gorgeous poolside and surrounding areas! We stayed in a Superior room which were very nice, they have a garden out front, lovely interior and a private jacuzzi area(shared with other superior room guests, breakfast was also very good.

The views are stunning and they also had a little beach a minute walk away which was very nice(however there are much more beautiful beaches in the area).

I loved this hotel and would defiantly go back,the downside was that we went out of season(mid Sept) and the bar area was very quiet in the evening and it felt like the hotel was empty, however it also meant that during the day it was very peaceful!Porto Cervo was also very quiet so we went to Baia Sardinia most evenings(which I loved).

You need a car!You can walk to Porto Cervo centre in about 20 mins however, I can't say that I love PC!It is a fairly new resort and you can tell, it lacks any history and charm. The Harbour area is interesting as you can look at all the massive yachts etc and maybe spot a celeb! But the attraction wears off after a short time(15 mins). The shopping there is excellent, but only if you want luxury goods and clothing - they have all the top designer boutiques.

The Costa Smeralda is stunning if you want to explore! Every corner you turn there is something beautiful to look at whether you are driving through the hills or going to the beach, you will be captivated by the beautiful aqua blue sea and the panoramic views.

To sum things up, this hotel is very good and I would love to go back when it is slightly busier(but not too busy). However, Baia Sardinia is more interesting than Porto Cervo and maybe a better base although I don't think you would get such a nice hotel there.

One last thing! The food is delicious anywhere you go!We never had one bad meal, it was all fantastic!

I wish I'd stayed longer! The Cala Granu beach is just perfect, and only 1 minute from the hotel. I had a superior room, with a full sea view and balcony. The staff are friendly and professional and speak enough English. I preferred the Orange restaurant. They got my favourite tea after I asked, and they had soya milk, these details are important to me. I will go back.

I've been in Grand Hotel couple times and I loved it! The place is beautiful, the most beautiful spot u can find in Sardinia! Porto Cervo is so close to the hotel, and is really awesome! The rooms are nice and very clean, the pool is amazing, the view from the hotel is breathless!...The beach is little and quiet..the orange beach is so classy, so as the orange lounge,so fancy!..The Orange restaurant is classy and the food is delicious! Can't find a negative thing in the whole hotel!..there's a gym, a spa, a pocker spot, and 3 beautiful jacuzzi..the service was good and the prices were the best in the porto cervo area!!..Such an amazing hotel!
