“Horrible Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2006

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. If it were 20 euro, I would have figured that it was what you get for little money, but they had the audacity to charge 80 euro. We were desperate or else we would never have stayed. Rooms are dim and dingy. Cigarette burns on the bedside tables. TV was on a rickety table. Noise from the street was surprising for such a small town.

Even the most cheerful person will find this place unbelievably depressing. Avoid this hotel.

“Central Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2006

Our visit here was most pleasant. Our room was clean and the bathroom had a big shower. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was more than satifactory. The only problem we found was our room was facing the front alley and the noise was disturbing.

“Freezing in Pistoia”

We booked into the Leon Bianco based on a tour book recommendation.
The room was dimly lit, the bathroom was huge with a shower located so low on the wall, a contortionist would have been challenged! The whole place was freezing. We requested that the heat be turned on in our room, and were assured it would be. It never happened. We couldn't wait to check out first thing in the morning. Breakfast was pretty poor, and we were thankful that we had enjoyed an excellent meal at the restaurant next door the night before.

“Good value for money, excellent location”

In June 2004 we stayed 2 nights in the Leon Bianco, which is right in the city centre of Pistoia. The staff were very friendly. They provided us with a resident's permit to park our car (free of charge) in a nearby street. Our room was spacious and clean with a good spotless bathroom. The place is not very cozily decorated though, just very functional with whitewashed walls etc, but this is something I experience more often in Italy. When you walk out of the hotel you'll find yourself in Pistoia's historic centre's main street. At the bar next door we had our breakfast and the bookstall right next to it has a good selection of international newspapers. Pistoia is a lovely place to visit and not as crowded as other Tuscan places. We would definitely stay at the Leon Bianco again. At 90 Euros a night for a double room, it's good value for money.
