During our stay in August of 2010 (not 2011), we stayed here for a renewal of wedding vows from my Aunt and Uncle.
I want to say that I love historic sites, and buildings, and this hotel is truly historic. It feels like a medieval mansion, with a swimming pool and church. La Badia is on a lot of land, but the pool and the tennis court (which I believe they have) are within walking distance from each other and the hotel, unlike what a few reviewers have said.
Since we stayed with my family and relatives, we got to experience different rooms. The double rooms were fairly large and we didn't have a problem fitting another cot in the room, making it three beds in all. The single rooms weren't as large as your average hotel room, but they were very comfortable and I can't complain about them. There is also a honeymoon suite I believe which is a separate building from the main hotel, and that room was magnificent. It was large, with its on couch and table in a separate room from the bed. The only con I must say would be the bathroom because it seemed dated, but I believe they upgraded them after our stay there. I also believe the upgraded their beds as well, which would make your stay there even better. You must bring your own luggage from your car to your room, and when you leave you must bring it from your room to your car. I don't recall anyone helping us out, besides my family, but that really didn't matter much.
I really recommend La Badia to anyone who loves historic sites. The hotel was VERY helpful with the wedding, and the concierge seemed like a nice lady, ready to help you with all of your needs.
