We stayed at La Badia last week.
It is a lovely place. The rooms could use a little updating but they were clean and everything worked. The grounds are stunning.
We also enjoyed a fine meal in the restaurant.

This was our first trip to Orvieto and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at La Badia. Everywhere on the hotel's premises, we admired the architecture, the views and the peaceful surroundings.
The location is very convenient, just minutes from the autostrada and just minutes to the town of Orvieto. The room was clean and quite comfortable, and the buffet breakfast had some of the tastiest pastries that we enjoyed on the trip. The staff was helpful and provided us with all of the travel information that we needed to enjoy our visit to the area.
An added bonus was the discovery of the tennis court. As avid tennis fans, a morning round of tennis mixed right in with the rest of the stay. We would definitely like to return here in the coming year or so.

The villa/hotel dates from 1100. The site is beautiful. The staff was most helpful. The ancient architectual features were enchanting---almost unbelievable. Nice pool. Great view of Orvieto!!

We came across this hotel quite by chance on a journey from Abruzzo to Florence but it was quite delightful. An old abbey forms the basis of the hotel which is situated in its own parkland with views across to the cliffs which support the hill top town of Orvietto. We were tired and really wanted somewhere clean, pleasant and functional - well away from a crammed city center hotel - a bright airy room with views of green trees and blue skies. And that's exactly what we got.

Here we found the staff extremely helpful and asked to look at 4 rooms before making our choice. We decided to opt for a small suite at 270 Euros but well worth it. A hotel experience always comes down to the room you book - but room 21 was certainly bright and spacious. A small sitting room and an adjoining bedroom with a double aspect view over the gardens, abbey and the distant town of Orvieto. We ate in the hotel restaurant - outside under the cloisters in the shadow of the illuminated abbey and very fine it was. Breakfast was also good.
