We wanted to stay at an Agriturismo during our second visit to Italy, and we wanted to visit Orvieto. Thanks to Trip Advisor reviewers, we got our wish by our learning about Agriturismo Cioccoleta. I don't know what else can be said that hasn't already been. It's a wonderfully relaxed place to just sit and enjoy the quiet, the sweeping views of vineyards, and olive groves with Orvieto rising above on that mound of Tufa. Walking the vineyards and olive groves is convenient as they surround the property. The only pain experienced during such jaunts is from the relentless pinching of one's self as you seek to confirm that you're not dreaming. Your hosts are wonderful, down to earth people, who attend to your every need, and prepare you an incredible breakfast with delicious coffee and juices. The rooms and common areas are very comfortable and clean, and equipped to ensure your comfort, relaxation, and enjoyment. Pretentious and stuffy are NOT what we are looking for and NOT what you will find at Agristurismo Cioccoleta. We are very particular about where we stay and research prospective lodging extensively. Our research paid off once again with our choice to stay at Agriturismo Cioccoleta. You will need to have a car, and as we arrived by train from Roma, it was easy to prearrange a reservation with Hertz across the street from the Stazione. Getting around the area by car wasn't a problem and Cioccoleta is perfectly situated away from Orvieto. Around 4-5 miles at most, and Orvieto within easy view, yet your in the blissful quiet of rolling hills of vineyards and olives. We also drove to Civita di Bagnoregio and spent a good part of the day hiking into Civita, roaming and having lunch. In Orvieto, we met many wonderful friendly people working the shops and eateries, and just enjoyed how beautiful and relaxing a visit this area is. Especially after a few nights in Roma. If we are blessed with another visit to Italy, Angela will hear from us yet again.More
