We stayed in a double room with lake view (own balcony) during June 05 for 3 nights.
The hotel rooms are cosy - note, not cramped - with good ensuite facilities. The hotel generally is well laid out, very clean, good gardens and outdoor pool (which we didn't use, mainly because of the weather) and external covered patio area.
We stayed on half-board basis and we were very impressed with the standard of the restaurant. The cuisine at Du Lac was better than that offered at a 4* hotel we later stayed at.Staff were attentive.Starters/entrees were excellent choice and could easily have been a meal in themselves ! All the food was of a very high standard and we would have no hesitation in staying here again. My wife says that they even know how to make a proper pot of tea - praise indeed !
If there is a drawback (?),it's this - evening meals begin with the sound of a bell and the crowds descend, queuing for the entrees and you then eat at your designated table. The owners also sit at their own table in the restaurant keeping a weather eye on everything and everyone. So it does give a slightly 'regimented' feeling.Personally,I think it's a minor price to pay for the overall fare offered. But if you want a quiet, romantic, candlelit 3 hour canoodle type meal, you'll probably be disappointed and might be better off taking bed & breakfast, eating elsewhere in the evenings.I suspect that the staff would prefer that you did that,as well !
Parking was a bit tight - though we had no problems. But if the hotel was full I'd expect somebody would have to park outside the hotel grounds.
