Hotel Florida in Molveno is a rare find. Not only are the rooms cleans, well-appointed, well cared-for and generally what you expect from a very good 3-star hotel but the whole experience from the moment you enter the hotel until you leave will (hopefully) never leave me.

We arrived for a 4-night stay at about 9:30 p.m. at night, long after dinner was served in the hotel. The late hour did not deter the hotel keepers from giving my husband and me a welcome which is worthy of royalty. We were accompanied to our room by one of the hotel owners, who also helped us with our luggage. Besides, he explained all the geography of Molveno (the Dolomites, the sites, the walks, the amenities and facilities) and stayed with us until we ensured that everything was up to standard.

We were also given excellent advice on a number of matters, including a good pizzeria for the evening.

Breakfast and parking were also very good.

However, what struck me most was the friendliness, the availability, the courtesy of the hotel staff. They even had a welcome pack prepared for us before our arrival which contained a lot of useful information on Molveno and its neighbouring villages and a very useful discount card on a considerable number of facilities (including boat hire, chairlift, cable-cars and so on).

Another unmissable element is the great view which the hotel has from the sun-bathing terrace. The view is so lovely that I could spend hours simply sitting in the sun and watching the great view. The lake-view rooms also share the same view of the lake and I would heartily recommend that you try to book a lake-view room because I can guarantee you will never forget that view.

If you can, book the hotel on a half-board basis. Dinner used to be absolutely wonderful and plentiful. And there's nothing more relaxing then ending the day with a nice dinner at the hotel and going down to the centre (some 10-15 minutes away on foot) for a quick round about the lovely and quaint shops.

I can't wait to revisit Molveno and Hotel Florida!! An unforgettably beautiful and relaxing stay.
