“You could certainly do worse in Mestre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

First, understand that Maestre is an industrial suburb of Venice-no glitz and glamour here. The hotal is located 100 meters from the train station, where taxi's and buses are also readily available. There are also decent restuarants nearby. The neighborhood isn't the greatest after dark, so be careful as you would in any urban environment.

The Chinese owners/staff were very cordial and friendly. They speak very little English though we got by with them on my rudimentary Italian.

The rooms are small by American standards and about average for European and very clean. The hotel itself is a bit dated but clean and comnfortable.

Breakfast was included and consisted of a hard boiled egg, croissant, yogurt and coffee with some delicious parma prosciutto. Wireless and wired internet is available and was free.

Overall, if you're staying a few nights this is a good choice; if you're planning a longer stay, I'd spend the extra Euro's and be more confortable elsewhere.

“For one night perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2010

I stayed in this hotel only for one night and I was statisfied. The room is clean and air-conditioned. The bathroom is modern. The staff is friendly. The owner is a chinese old man. He gave us some travel tipps. The hotel is very near to the train station Mestre. You can take the train to Venice. A ticket costs only 1 Euro.

“Lovely, clean, safe parking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

Had a lovely stay at this hotel, so lovely that we had extended out holiday. Room was clean, functional. Bathroom was modern, and clean. Air conditioner was "iffy" thou.
It seemed to be run by one family and it definately had a feel of home with beautiful art in the stairway area.
The location was very handy, just make sure that you don't leave the train on the wrong station, you'll be walking for miles, I discovered just that, at midnight.

“Just no”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

Well to start positively the hotel has a good location near the train station of Mestre so it is very convenient to travel to Venice (train runs each 10-15 min). Other positive thing is that wireless is included in the price.

Now the reality - despite the staff are very nice (owned by Chinease family), they cannot speak a word in English which makes it rather difficult to claim something or ask for something.

The rooms are small (my was such small that the table was blocking the wardrobe door...), the walls are super thin so you can hear literally everything. The breakfast is a story for itself - I stayed there several days and the breakfast were always the same. You get a small tray with one egg, ham, one piece of cheese, small jouice, coffee, croissant and that's it. Wanna more? No.

Low quality for price which is offered by better hotels in Mestre (e.g. Vivit or even Plaza).

“Moldy Room; Moldy shower door puffing up, Moldy bed, No A/C; sucks!@”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2010

Worst Hotel Ever! Looks fine but when you close the door and sleep, molding bed stinks, bathroom door moldy, black mold that made me vomit. did not sleep a wink while in the room, I asked for help, but hotel staff does not speak English, speaks minimal Italian, speaks Shanghainese (not even Mandarin)! Freak out. Hotel facade looks clean and inviting but rooms and beds are stinking moldy! Even the soap is from China and has chinese words, it stinks, I nearly vomited when I smelled it. I wish I could get my money back. Whatever you do trust me, this hotel stinks, worst of all hotel staff cannot help you once you have paid for your hotel. Who speak Shanghainese in Italy?
