“Newly and nicely decorated small hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

The hotel is located few streets away from Mestre train station, little hard to walk to as the pedestrian way is obstructed by several car parked on the pedestrian walk and for going up and down crossing the streets, it is not very comfortable but is not a big problem.
The hotel it seam to be just renovated and for this reason is nice, with a modern and elegant décor, I’ve only stayed 1 night as forced from a cruise company by delaying the arrival time and make me loosing last train, however I would definitely return to this hotel if I must go to Venice either if I would go again on a cruise departing from Venice;
Yes this hotel is saving you a lot of money instead going to Venice old city, and is offering a charming and comfortable accommodation, if you decide to spend few days before cruising you can stay here and take the train to go to Venice or Padova, are many trains all day to go and came back, is it also more convenient to go to the cruise terminal from this hotel by taxi rather than from S.Marco square or anywhere else staying in Venice.
Breakfast is good quality even for a 3 stars hotel with a little bit of everything, I cannot say any suggestions about the area as that night was awful fog weather and you couldn’t see anything around, we went out for a pizza nearby but I will suggest not to go there as it seams to be kind of balcanic’s manager and employee, felt little dangerous and we where the only guests at 10pm on Saturday night!!!!!!!!!, maybe it is better to ask at the hotel where to go instead to go where your feeling telling you to go………we paid 55eur per room and it was certainly a bargains price for what offered, the perfect deal.
Only some little disappointing matter do not let me give to them a 5 stars rating, but it’s a minor issue e not so important, like the volume of the TV set at 10 and very low for listening, the minibar was refurbished only with few bottles of water and 1 fanta and the shower box it is smaller that usual making difficulty to move inside the box, therefore as I said in advance are minor things and not to be worried about the quality of the accommodation.

Room Tip: avoid room 304 as it as a next room bathroom just beside your bed and you can heard everything happe...

clean, big bed, adequately heated, average breakfast, average beddings (no duvet-just blankets). Very friendly staff, and average distance from the train station.

“Warm welcome, helpful service”

Within an easy walk of the railway station at Mestre, we were delighted by the warm welcome, helpful advice (map of Venice and info on bus tickets and prices provided) and clean modern room. The hotel was comfortable, smart and the breakfast was enjoyable, with a good choice of food.

The area around the station is run down and a bit seedy, but the hotel felt very safe and secure - an oasis of calm and quiet. We slept well and were very pleased with the price paid.

Dinner at a nearby restaurant Valerianos (2 min walk away ) was superb - great food and lovely service, and we enjoyed relaxing there after an aftrernoon walking around Venice.

Taxi from hotel to Venice Marco Polo airport cost us Euro 35 for 2 people (incl 2 suitcases).

“Good locally owned hotel outside of Venice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

This is seems to be a privately owned-operated hotel in a residential community. It's very quite at night, since mostly local residents live in the area. The train station is 10-15 min walk away where you can take the #2 bus to Venice and back to the train station. The bus will take about 20 mins both ways, however. Buy a 12 or 24 hour Imob ticket for the day which can be used on the bus and waterbus (not water taxi). We took bus #2 and waterbus #2 for the entire day. Accomodations where good, but it was very hot and the A/c could not keep the room cool enough (so we were uncomfortable sleeping). Breakfast was very good with all you can eat meats, cheeses and breads. Coffee maker was self-service, but expresso is available for additional price. Rooms were nicely appointed and very clean! Small refrigerator and desk in the room too. Wifi was free - yeah! All around, a great hotel with the basics. Parking was free if you book directly with the hotel; otherwise would have been 10 euro/day. Reception spoke English, Spanish and some German. Nice supermarket within 10 min walk too so you can stock up on things...even large bottles of water for 0,40 euro/each!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor maybe towards the back for quiteness
