“Great location, great service”

We stayed here in April 2011. It was our first to Venice and proved to be the perfect place to have as our base. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and it was just a short walk from the bus to Venice. The room was comfortable with plenty of space, and overlooked the piazza. We were so satisfied with our stay that we have booked again for 2012.

“Satisfied”

Nice place to visit Venice. Located inside a walking district on a square with shops, bars and restaurants. 10 minutes to Venice by car or a bus. Excellent (!) breakfast, really! The rooms are big. It has a small free parking lot just for 4-5 cars. The only one problem I had was a very hot heating radiator, but I have found the way to switch it off.
The hotel is definitely better than 3-star (if compared with most 3-star hotels in Italy).

“One of the better places to stay near Venice”

Great location, great people. This is a great place to stay out of Venice. The piazza is a vibrant al fresco area to eat, drink, people watch and nice and quiet at night for a good sleep. Beats sitting in a small restaurant looking at the walls. Catch the bus to Venice for the day. Short 10 minute walk to Mestre train station. Will be back again.
Thanks for a great stay.

“Great stay - highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

What a good find. It is not in Venice itself but about a 15 min bus ride away in a mainly residential area. The buses come regularly. One tip - make sure you know which bus stop it is on the homeward journey - we overshot the frist time and ended up stumbling around for ages at night - completely lost. The room rate is significantly lower than comparable Venetian hotels. Our room was big, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It overlooked the lively piazza which was full of local families every evening. Be aware that there is no lift but the staff carried our bags up for us. The staff are very helpful, speak good English and helped us with all sorts of directions, bus tickets and advice. Breakfast and free lobby internet was included in our room rate. The breakfast was delicious with lots of cold choices although not much hot food - eggs and toast only. There is a nice reading room and a quiet bar for a relaxing night-cap after a full day sightseeing. I would definitely return here again if I'm ever lucky enough to revisit Venice.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the square on the first floor.

“Comfy and affordable hotel in the centre of Mestre's pedestrian area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

The hotel is perfectly located right at the top of Piazza Ferretto in Mestre, the Venice suburb on the land side of the lagoon. It has a couple of parking spots in the back of the hotel, although it is tricky to access it with the car as it is a pedestrian area and very crowded at night. Some people may give bad looks as they do not know the hotel has parking spots available. Alternatively, it has another parking 5 minutes walk away but you will need to get the key from the reception desk.

The rooms are not huge but comfortable enough. Unlike other hotels in the area, the rooms have been refurbished with wooden floors which makes them clean pretty clean. Even if the bathroom is small, it has all that is needed and perhaps even more: a good sized sink, a shower, a toilet bowl, a bidet and a built-in blow dryer. There also is a minibar next to the bed and mind you, it is very silent and you won't hear it at night. Rooms also have free wireless internet connection. The only downsides are the next-door cathedral that has its bells ringing loudly at 7:00 AM every morning and the ancient TV in the room with only a very few channels.

The hotel has a large breakfast buffet. I mean, large for Italian standards. They have pastries, bread with maremelade, cereals, ham and fresh fruits. Do however not use the coffee machine in the main room, it is rubbish! Instead, ask the waitress to make you a proper Italian coffee with the machine they have at the bar. If you are in Italy, you have to do it the Italian way, right? ;-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view on the back, they are much quieter as they won't face the terraces of...
