Very nice 4* hotel ideally located in the center of Marsala. Easy walking to all the attractions in the city. The staff are very friendly, service is excellent. We visited the end of October and there were not many staying in the hotel, so staff could not do enough for us. It is perhaps a little expensive for what it is, however the central location is worth paying a little extra for.

Hint: arrange your taxi transfer with the hotel, the price was 50% what we could find anywhere else

Cons
-Construction going on, started at 7am; check to see if this is still going on and/or request a room on the side of the hotel away from the construction
-Internet spotty, usually did not work well
-Bed not the most comfortable
-A little hard for taxi to find because it is on a pedestrian street

With what I thought were clear directions from google maps and a print out of a street map showing directions, we became hopelessly lost. It necessitated finding a place to park the car, and then setting off on foot to find the hotel because much of the downtown is blocked off to traffic of which google maps is apparently unaware. I found a travel agent who provided me with a map showing the hotel location. I walked there and got directions from the person at the desk. I was then able to drive in a round about way to arrive at the hotel’s reserved parking area. The hotel is conveniently located to the down town historic area. The breakfast provided was very good with a variety of Sicilian pastries in addition to dry cereal, fruit, coffee and etc. The room was OK, but fairly basic and was carpeted in contrast to the striking red marble used elsewhere in the hotel.

We stayed one night at the Stella in August and we experienced the absolute best service one can exptect. From the nice valet that parked our car (thank you!) to the nice lady at the front desk, further to a nice and big room, with lovely beds, a very lovely bathroom and the "italian" (read mostly consisted of sweets) breakfast, we truly enjoyed our stay. We would really like to come back some day.
