We spent one night in this hotel before we joined a cruise from Venice and a further two nights at the end of the cruise. The room we were in on the first night, whilst far from being luxurious, appeared relatively clean, but when I woke next morning I discovered that I had been very badly bitten. I'm not sure whether this was by bed bugs or mosquitos. The bites were so bad that I had to receive medical treatment during the cruise. On our second stay in the hotel after the cruise I woke during the night to discover a large beetle in my bed. On reflection, I realise we should have kept it and complained to the management in the morning, but I freaked and my husband was just concerned with getting rid of it. Before getting into bed on the second night I shook all the bedding carefully to make sure I had no beetles sharing my bed. However, in the morning my husband again found a beetle in the bed which he managed to dispose of before I saw it. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Apart from the bugs and beetles, the carpets were not too clean, and the breakfast was very minimal. The hotel is situated about 35 minutes by bus from Venice. The good thing is that the bus stops right at the door, but the buses are always crowded and you have to stand for the whole journey. The hotel has a shuttle bus service which goes into Venice 4 times during the morning. This, however, can only take 8 people and you have to book it at 7.00 a.m. on the morning you want to use it which means setting your alarm.
