We too found this a good base for exploring Malcesine and it's really close to the Monte Baldo cable car. We also found the staff really friendly. They seemed to appreciate our efforts at attempting basic Italian phrases!! The rooms were cleaned every day and the whole hotel including the fitness room were spotless. The breakfasts were great with a wide range of options from cereal to fresh fruit to pastries to cold meats and cheeses. Not all hotels in Malcesine offer this standard of breakfast as we discovered from speaking to others. The outdoor areas were also clean and sunloungers were always available although to be honest there's so much to do in and around Malcesine that we hardly used them! We didn't have a lake view room but as we spent much of our time out and about exploring it really didn't matter. In the evenings we had the outdoor area to ourselves if we wanted to sit out. There were a couple of evenings where we were too tired to eat out so we got fantastic pizzas from the pizza takeaway just down the road from the hotel. We always had a lake view at breakfast as many of the tables were facing the lake.
