We spent our honeymoon at Garni Orchidea, and we were really satisfied with the hotel!

Our room was surprisingly spacious - I would call it a suite. After hearing the purpose of our trip the staff was kind enough to have a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in the room - thank you! The staff was very helpful and friendly all the time.

Continental breakfast was much more versatile to what I'm used to seeing in Italy.

Contrary to what some sites say, there was free WiFi available (though it only worked well in the lobby). Free parking is also a great thing as it can be hard to find a parking slot in Malcesine.

As other reviews say, hotel is located a couple of kilometers from the center of Malcesine. We didn't spend too much time in Malcesine so this wasn't an issue for us, and the plus side is that the modern room was very quiet during the night time. Also air conditioning helped to keep the temperatures down.

I was really impressed with this hotel and would definitely stay there again!

We found the hotel was in an ideal location about 1 mile away from all the hustle and bustle of Malcesine which is a lovely place to visit and very popular with visitors, especially from Germany. The tourist bus was great as long as you planned your day carefully and didn't want to come back mid-afternoon (it stopped running in the afternoons).
We had a lovely, good sized room with a big terrace, an excellent bathroom, all of which we found very clean and comfortable. The extensive grounds had plenty of chairs and sun beds, and parking for cars was good.
Local traffic was light and the bus took about ten minutes to get us back right outside the hotel. The trip from the hotel on the bus took about 25 minutes to get us right into Malcesine as it went north along the lake a couple of miles to various other pick-up points before turning round and heading into Malcesine itself, so we did see some other parts of the area, hotels etc on the way in.
The reception area and breakfast room are open plan, very modern and clean and Christian and his assistant were very friendly, helpful, and spoke English and German very well.
When tired a couple of nights, we went to the restaurant right next door and would recommend it to anyone. We had good service, an excellent menu to choose from, and very reasonable prices. (It saved getting back on the bus or going back into Malcesine in the car). I would recommend the calzone particularly, it was delicious and huge!)

This hotel is only 4 years old so is clean airy and modern.
The rooms are a good size, great bathroom with proper bath sheet towels!
It is not as remote as we feared from the description, indeed there is a pizzeria next door and a beer garden about 400m away, but no problem with noise from either.
In saying that is it not as quiet as we expected because the road it is on is the old lake road and still used by locals on their vespas and apes etcetc. But at night its Ok and the double glazing cuts out the noise.
Breakfasts are great, good choice and very fresh.
It is about 20 -25mins stroll from Malcesine and only part of the road has a footpath but it is lit all the way and not too steep either. The tourist bus is great and stops right outside the hotel.
If this hotel suits your budget, then for Malcesine it is a good choice.

Myself and my husband booked this hotel on the internet through Thomas Cook after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor.

We were not dissapointed the hotel was exactly as we had imagined. It was quiet and very clean with a lovely little bar and a very nice continental breakfast. It is quite remote but there is a bus service that stops outside every hour for 1 Euro. We walked into and out of town a few times but it is a hilly walk and not pavemented. The hotel is family run and one of the sons runs it along with another member of staff. They were really friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We were able to use the facilities of the Astoria Hotel which is also run by the same family and this was a 10 minute walk away and also seemed nice but larger and busier and right on the lake.

We had a lovely trip to Venice although it is a very hectic trip but nice to say we have been. We also went to a vineyard for wine tasting which we thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend.

Lots of lovely places to eat in Malcesine but we had a lovely meal in Ca Vega which is near the Astoria and needs to be booked the restaurant next to the hotel La Dasa was ok if you just fancy a pizza.
