“Basic but good”

Great location. About 10-15 mins walk from the centre of Malcesine and those 10-15 mins walk are a pleasure as you walk along the prom of lake Garda itself to get into the town so you'd be happy if it was 30/45 mins away as each time you do the walk you are taking in the most amazing scenary. The hotel is clean, functional and the breakfast is really pretty good.

I'd say only negatives are is we could hear when other guests had their showers on/flushed toilets as there is no sound proofing in the hotel. Also if you are easily distracted by road noise that is something to consider, its on the main road in and out and although not a lot of traffic, if you're a light sleeper it will wake you up from 6am

“Very friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

This is a nice wee hotel situated just towards the south of Malcesine town centre. The room was basic enough (no tv, air con, hair dryer etc) and my only gripe would be that our bathroom smelled a bit damp. However, the staff went out of their way to help us and provided us with a fan for the room, an umbrella when it rained, internet access when we asked and overall would go out of their way to help.

There is a good sized swimming pool at the side of the hotel and even bikes available to use free of charge.

“A good basic well run hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

This is a hotel run on a relaxed friendly basis. The room we had was a bit on the small side and would have suited someone with limited luggage as there wasn't a lot of space and no lift. There wasn't any air conditioning in our room.
It has a swimming pool and lots of loungers.
The breakfasts were a bit basic as the bread/croissants were in packets and not fresh. It has a pleasant terrace on which to take breakfast or enjoy an evening drink.
The staff were very keen to please provdiing us with any local information we required.
It took about 15 minutes to walk into the town, which has plenty of restaurants and bars.
A must do thing is the cable car ride up Mount Baldo.

“What a location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2011

Had stayed in this hotel some years ago and enjoyed our visit then. Booked this on the spur of the moment with Ryanair flying to Bergamo. Lorenzo arranged the transfers to and from Bergamo, so stress free from airport to Malcesine and back. We weren't disappointed - we would say the hotel was better than we remembered on our last visit. The weather was hot, (good for swimming in the lake) especially at night which meant the veranda windows had to be left open, so not so good for noise at night. We enjoyed the swimming pool and grounds and the walk into town along the lake was a joy. Lorenzo and his family were delightful. We would definitely go back to this hotel again.

“welcoming hotel staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

We were allocated this hotel on arrival through Inghams a Taste of Italy so we were not expecting luxury for the price we paid. However we were welcomed warmly and the plus side was a pool in nice gardens, a safe and a balcony with lake and mountain view. The road noise however was a downside continuing until late at night, the breakfasts were very basic with no fruit or yoghurts provided. As we booked half board we had our evening meal at the nearby Cristallo Hotel. The Hotel was very clean though many areas needed updating. The owners were very helpful and friendly . The walk into Malcesine took approx.20 mins with a steep path down to the beautiful lakeside walk
Altogether reasonable for the price.
