This is our second visit to the Hotel Castello and we will most certainly be returning again in the not too distant future. The Castello Suite is spacious, well appointed with lovely views over the Lake. The food is excellent with plenty of choice and all of the staff are friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. The family are always on hand for inforamation and help. The hotel is in a quiet position but near the town and the Castle.

This hotel occupies the most wonderful position right on the shores of Lake Garda, within easy walking distance of the centre of the attractive little town of Malcesine. The view across the lake to Limone on the opposite shore and the mountains behind is stunning, whilst just above the hotel's own beach stands an imposing castle. Behind the hotel is Monte Baldo, with a cable car which takes you up to 6000 feet. This is certainly no ordinary setting.

The hotel has other merits too: friendly and efficient staff; an excellent five course dinner for only 8 Euros if pre-booked; a pleasant terrace enjoying the best views and offering reasonably priced food all day; ample car parking; free wi-fi and a hotel computer for the use of guests; and an English newspaper in the hotel every day.

On the downside, the chamber maids appeared to do the barest minimum, whilst on several occasions barging into our room before we had left it. The walls of our room were paper thin, conversations from next door being plainly audible. The air conditioning took some time to be effective. Both coffee and tea at breakfast were hardly drinkable.

Overall, though, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommend this hotel to any one thinking of a holiday on Lake Garda.

We had 4 nights here in a luxury room which had two balconies and was almost IN the lake.Our four course dinners with very good wines were a real treat.
All the staff were most attentive.Swimming in the lake was superb in late August from directly in front of the hotel.The best position by far in Malcesine.

Beautiful venue, excellent surroundings, highly recommended!
